Re: Official Hip Hop/Rap Music Thread
I still think there are 3-4 guys at(Slug, Brother Ali, Murs, Grieves, Sapient of Sand People) I like more then Royce. Plus there are a few canadian acts (DL Incognito, Classified, Sweat Shop Union) which are right up there. They aren't many guys that have the bars that he does. He destorys other rappers beats all the time. His lyrics are great, and he is charismatic and funny as hell. Check out his freestyles over Forever, Airplanes, or "over" by Drake. Everything he does is quality.
He may not be the best, but I think there is 2-3 categories. There are the guys that just rhyme circles around people, They are great lyricists. Then there are the guys that are pretty good, but inconsistent. Then their are the ones that suck. I think he is the first group.
He isn't going to drop some major album that turns out to be a classic, or do anything that changes rap, but in terms of just lyrics, bar for bar, he is up there with the best of them.
But our point is the same, as for mainstream I love Kayne and Lupe, The Roots....thats about it."Good music transcends all physical limits, it's more then something you hear, it's something that you feel, when the author, experience, and passion is real" - Murs (And this is for)Comment

Re: Official Hip Hop/Rap Music Thread
How about Blu. I like him more than J.Cole right now. He has such a nice flow, he is one of my favorites right now.

Re: Official Hip Hop/Rap Music Thread
</object> I still have to get to downloading all the stuff Blu has done.
So far I've only heard a few songs jmood posted once and his features on The Roots' album. He sounds really good.
I'll probably DL that Diggy tape as well, but it's kinda weird listening to a kid that's only, what, 14-15? He did do pretty damn good on that Made You Look beat though.Originally posted by bradtxmaleI like 6 inches. Its not too thin and not too thick. You get the support your body needs.

Re: Official Hip Hop/Rap Music Thread
I can get you a download of all of Blu's stuff. 6 discs worth.
I'm apart of this page on facebook where the creator just posts great hip hop. He uploaded his whole collection of Blu. It's like 65 songs.
Have you listened to Below the Heavens? From 2007? That's one of the best albums put together this decade. It's such a complete album. Production, lyrics, his flow is off the charts, the type of songs, it's just a masterpiece.
PM for the download.JayElectronicaBluElzhi2PacTheNotoriousB.I.G.ReksSc arfaceFashawnJeruThaDamajaComment

Re: Official Hip Hop/Rap Music Thread
You need to go to the underground thread cause we've been talking about Blu, Elzhi, etc for years.Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

Re: Official Hip Hop/Rap Music Thread
I wouldn't be shocked if that in a few years people say Blu fell off. Just like Mos Def. When you start off with an album like Below the Heavens or Black on Both sides, everybody is going to think you fell of because that first album was so damn good.JayElectronicaBluElzhi2PacTheNotoriousB.I.G.ReksSc arfaceFashawnJeruThaDamajaComment
