Re: Official Hip Hop/Rap Music Thread

Man, over the past week I have fallen in love with XV...if you haven't listened to him, you HAVE to.

My favorite songs by him are...

Mirror's Edge, Fall out the Sky, Cruise, Everybody's Nobody, Awesome and Undeniable...he has a mixtape on datpiff that has some of them(almost all) called Everybody's Nobody.

Wiz Khalifa is so boring. My boy always plays his music when we hang out, I swear every song with him is the same! Every line is:

"(insert marijuana reference, insert hoe reference, now lets go fly plans like pilots dawg"

Every song from him feels like the same song, over and over. I really don't like him.

Man, I thought that was a new Kanye song. Was rather excited for a moment.

One of favorite tracks from Late Registration.

One of my fave Kanye tracks..

Can't believe how much he's changed over these last 6 years, is a completely different artist now imo. Still a good one though.

I liked him when he was doing songs like Heard Em say, Touch the Sky, etc. around 06? He had a period then when he was trying to be J Dilla (think Be - Common), but then for whatever reason he stopped and went off into a new sound.

The masses(mainly Mainstream)didn't like that style.

Me personally I thought Kanye was at his best during that time but to me, he's regressed some ever since.

                              I agree.

I miss the soul beats man. I always go back and listen to stuff like Through The Wire and some of the older songs that were posted here the last few days. He started to mess with his sound on Graduation though and then of course there was 808's.

I feel like MBDTF is a combination of everything he's done, but I still miss the College Dropout/Late Registration stuff.

I don't think its a coincidence in my circle everyone agrees The Joy is head and shoulders above the rest of the album. Its got that sound....to bad Pete Rock's really on the beat and not Kanye.

That being said i don't know what the general feel is on the "favorites" outside my friend base.
