It already happens in Japan. These weird anime J-Pop "artists" have actual concerts and the amine hologram performs on stage. Weirdest looking thing ever.

Re: Official Hip Hop/Rap Music Thread

Came back home today from my mini Coachella vacation. Here is a little run down of our experience.

We purchased our 3 day passes back when they went on pre-sale. The package was actually the best way to go because it included the passes, hotel, and shuttle passes to and from the venue. We stayed at the Marriott Desert Springs Villas. Being able to lay by the pool in the morning and sober up vs waking up in a tent was worth the extra money.

The weather for day one was wet and windy. We spent a good majority of the day exploring the lay of the land. The lineup for Friday didn't have much to offer us until later in the day. Kendrick Lamar was the first act we say. Dude killed it as expected and even brought out Ab Soul and Jay Rock. No Schoolboy Q was a little disappointing. Later we saw Grouplove, WU LYF, and Frank Ocean. Frank Ocean was the biggest disappointment of the whole weekend. Dude just flat out sucked.

Last act we saw was the Black Keys. Came away a bigger fan than I was before seeing them live. One of the better rock shows I've seen live. We decided not to stick around for the ****ty dub step music the rest of the night had to offer.

Day two the weather cleared up. Started off the day by myself because my friends wanted to see Childish Gambino. After learning Alison Brie wouldn't be joining him, I decided to pass. Instead I saw Azealia Banks who tore the place down. This chick has a bright future in music and her song 212 had the whole place rocking. Caught Manchester Orchestra(very good live), the Shins(also good live), and Bon Iver to wind down before going to see A$AP.

A$AP knows how to put on a hip hop show. Crazy energy throughout and the crowd ate up every second of it. The entire tent was "foggy" the entire time and someone even threw a bag of coke on the stage after he asked for something to smoke.

Day three was the day I looked forward to the most. Weather wise this was the best out of all three and the lineup was stacked. Kicked off the day with a group called Santigold. Nah, this **** wasn't for me at all, my buddies enjoyed it though. Fitz and the Tantrums put on a good show before watching a little of the Hives. Two of my friends decided to stick around for the full set, but my buddy Duncan and me went to see the main event to see the Weeknd.

While not having the strongest singing voice, he had the whole crowd singing along for every word. Live band he had backing him were on point. Dude could have sang nursery rhymes the entire set and chicks would have ate it up.

Watched Company Flow play their next to last show ever. If you told me years ago that in 2012 I'd be seeing these guys perform, I'd call you crazy. Good performance and the nostalgia didn't hurt. Next was standing through an hour set by something called At the drive in. It was either listen to this garbage or be standing behind an extra 15-20 thousand people for Snoop & Dre.

The entire Snoop & Dre set was dope. Nothing but banger after banger after banger. Kurupt coming out was dope as **** and it was great seeing Kendrick shine in front of that many people. Would rather Tony Yayo perform Pimpin and So Seductive instead of Eminem's lip singing ***, but such is life. The whole 2pac hologram thing was wack to me. Everybody seemed to love it, I thought it was sorta corny. Overall I was let down that this was the show that closed the weekend.

                Positives
                Saw some great music live

Met and exchanged numbers with some very cool people.

Got a chance to met Bryan Greenberg(Ben from How To Make It In America)
Absolutely gorgeous scenery at night and atmosphere is unreal.

Was about 30 feet away from Rihanna during the Weeknd performance. She was on the side of the stage and I instantly felt a connection with her. Unfortunately, she didn't feel the same way. She is serious one bad chick in person, guys.

                Negatives

                Expensive

                Overall a crappy lineup

                Expensive

Security was a pain when trying to get into the venue

                Expensive

The girl I brought back to the hotel Sunday night stealing money out of my pocket while I was sleeping. Not exactly what I wanted to wake up to Monday morning. Luckily my wallet/credit cards were locked away and I fell asleep with my watch on, lol.

Strongly considering taking the trip out there again next year. Rumor going around was Outkast will be the Sunday headliner.

Yup, she was the epitome of class. No shortage of attractive women there who want to have a good time. At the end of the day, I looked at it like this. She only got away with about $40. Much more has been spent at the club, only for me to go home alone. So it was money well spent, lol.

As for Rihanna, looks like she already had a date for night.

Lil Wayne put out the Carter 3 Sessions with no DJ at CDQ today(yesterday) for free. If you remember the leaks you know this music had you excited for the actual Carter 3. We all know how that album turned out though.

60+ tracks with some gems you may have been searching for and other you forgot about.
