Meh, just a rough list. Em and Biggie may crack in there on some days. Tupac and Jay just bore me. Sorry.

DOOM, Aesop Rock, Nas, RZA, Earl, and Blu are actually better than Jay, Pac, and Biggie technically. With Em, you could argue.

Past few pages have been full of Tom Foolery.

EDIT: @Pack you aint never lied about that Restless album. Still jams to this day.

      For me:

Memphis Bleek's M.A.D.E. album was pretty good.
2pac's Better Dayz album was weak outside of "Thugz Mansion" and "Ride on our Enemies"
Wasn't a fan of "The Come Up" mixtape by J. Cole (everything since has been golden tho)
Still thinks that if Paul Wall and Chamillionaire would've stayed together they'd do big things.
      Fabulous is overrated
      Nipsey Hussle is underrated
      Ludacris has lost a step
Don't see what was so bad about the "Best of Both Worlds Collaboration" (Although I've never heard the second album)
The Slim Shady LP was Eminem's second to worst album next to Relapse
Thought State Property was the **** back in the day.
Shaq's "Shaq Diesel" and "You Can't Stop the Reign" albums were good
Jay-Z's Vol. 3 was trash (still think he's one of the GOATs)

That's all I got for now.

                  Unpopular opinions:

Other than Reasonable Doubt, the Blueprint and the Black Album everything else in Jay-Z's catalog is mediocre.

Kanye West, Lil Wayne and T.I. are all good rappers, but are byproducts of a very weak era.

The Don Killumanti: 7 Day Theory is average album with only 4 quality songs. You can tell it was rushed.....

Watch the Throne is a mediocre album carried by great production and Jay-Z is outclassed throughout.

Redman is one of the greatest rappers ever. Not all of his catalog has aged well, but his best stuff (Muddy Waters & Doc's the Name 2000) is as good as any.

Cam'ron and the entire Dipset are trash. Only person I could ever get behind was Juelz Santana, but only sometimes.

Big K.R.I.T. released the album of the year with Live from the Underground.

Jay Z? yes, Nas? maybe no. I would think Na.s was known around 94-95, plus Illmatic came out in 94

It really wasn't, I enjoyed 3-4 songs in that album. Most of the album was him being funny.

Rakim's voice is just...ugh, and his rhyme schemes are basic. So generic. He's decent, just overrated.

I've probably played Illmatic all the way through 300+ times in my life; maybe it's just gotten stale, but that opinion is not that unpopular.

                      My opinions of course.

Re: Official Hip Hop/Rap Music Thread

Just DLed an old Max B tape, he had some nice songs. I think I DLed Public Domain 1. I liked Oww Oww(Get Throwed Freestyle), Dom P, and a few other songs. Never really a fan of Jim Jones. None of his songs had any longevity for me. If it wasnt for Max, French Montana probably wouldnt have been noticed.

What was the mixtape when he and Jim Jones did a freestyle/song of Feds Taking Pics?
                        ____________________________________

-Didnt like Dipset looking back now. Jim Jones had some good songs(mostly the hits) but alot of them were medicore. IMO, Cam tried too hard to rhyme at all times. Juelz was alright. I actually didnt mind Hell Rell.
-IMO, Fabolous is overrated. He can have some good songs once in a while, but for the most part he isnt all that good to me. Beside 1-3 features, I dont think he has put anything out since his Christmas Mixtape last year.
-IMO, Lil Wayne hasnt been the same since No Ceilings. I get tired of hearing about skateboarding, Trukfit, same sex lines. When he was the "Mixtape Weezy"(putting out consistently good mixtapes out) , he was good. Since he became "Tunechi", not so much. He is very predictable.
                        - Dont like Wale and Big Sean. Unless I REALLY like the beat, I cant listen to it. I only liked 3 songs off of the Detriot tape.
-2 Chainz/Tity Boi is sometimey for me. Sometimes With a beat I like, he can sound good. Sometimes his lyrics can make me turn the song off real quick. "She got a big booty, so I call her Big Booty" type lyrics make me say "GTFOH with that BS".
                        - I like Papoose but he seems to be biting off Big L at alot of times(style/flow-wise).
                        - Cassidy fell off
                        -Liked Mobb Deep and OutKast.
-Dont know why, but I always like Down South/Texas Music. UGK, Paul Wall, Z-RO, Trae, Big Krit, TI, Yo Gotti(at times). I could never get into Chamillionaire.
                        -I like Rick Ross(at times)
-Curren$y is one of my top artists right now. Still hoping the Spitta & Wiz tape come out.
-Wiz seems to be "commerical/mainstream" compared to what he was before. I like his pre-2nd album(didnt listen to his 1st album) mixtapes.
-Like Jadakiss & Styles P. Kiss's track Child Abuse(off of Kiss my *** mixtape) is still on heavy rotation.
-Post 2005, I didnt like G-unit and The Game. The Game fell off. But, I am starting like Lloyd Banks as of recently as a solo artist.
-Kanye I am not sure about. I liked most of his earlier work. But since he became heavily involved in the fashion/artistic stuff, there is only a few songs I like.
-Drake and Cole I dont know. I liked some/most of Drake's and Cole's pre-1st album stuff. But it seems like they go on a hiatus at times and focus heavily on touring and other ventures besides a few solo tracks once in a while and a few features. I dont think Drake put out a mixtape since his 1st album and I am kinda seeing that with Cole. Where between album, there might only be a few features and solo tracks. Which is a like a really good pre-album mixtape, it gives the albums BIG expectations.
-I like Slaughterhouse and Em(havent listened to his recent albums).
-Dont like Tyga. It seems like most of his songs are "hit/radio songs".
-I dont really listen to Jay Z that much growing up. But, I might borrow Reasonable Doubt from my Dad.
-As for Big & Pac, I liked their songs. But for me, it seemed like they didnt become GOATs until they died.
                        Thats it for now.

For me the beat of a song is heavily important for me. The lyrics/flow and the way they approach a song is important. But, most of the times I wont listen to a song if I dont like the beat. I dont really like the Catchy/Radio songs that for the most part get stuck in your head. Heck, I stop listening to most songs once they get onto the mainstream. I never was the "Trendy" type. I listened to what I thought was good, not to music I didnt like to listen to seem cool.

Here's the video to Bath Salts. Flatbush killed it (first two dudes). I have no idea why Ant hopped on the beat. Almost ruined the song. Thankfully ASAP saved it at the end with his vicious verse.
