Re: Official Hip Hop/Rap Music Thread
I'd consider a consistent, top-to-bottom, album "pretty ****ing awesome" a lot quicker than I'd consider and album that had two or three good songs out of 12 and the rest 'meh.'
And assuming everyone you talk to shares your taste, or close to it, in music...I'm not surprised no one likes it.
Those of you that don't worship false idols of music will, more than likely, enjoy it (or not find it a disappointment).Originally posted by BlueNGoldI feel weird for liking a post about exposed penises.Comment

I feel like I can't get into albums anymore cause of mixtapes. I feel K. Dot - Training Day more than his maad city album. Lyrically you can say whatever on a mix tape where as an album your trying to stick to some type of theme/story line.

I think Section 80 has a few more "memorable"/"stand out" songs, but I think I like the entirety of this album better.Comment

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

Re: Official Hip Hop/Rap Music Thread
GZA disappointed me on this, sounds drunk. Masta Killah had the best verse.

Re: Official Hip Hop/Rap Music Thread
Kendrick Lamar Calls J. Cole and Himself The 'Forefront' of Hip-Hop
The face of Hip-Hop is now in the hands of two men.
Well, that's according to Kendrick Lamar, who's getting ready to drop his debut album, "good kid, m.A.A.d city." He and J. Cole have been working on a joint album for quite some time, and Lamar spoke on the collaboration album as well as the state of Hip-Hop with now him and Cole as the new faces of it.
When talking about Cole, he said, "He's a real good dude. His music is incredible. Years back when I met him at the XXL shoot, his cover, we just chopped it up. ... Met back in L.A., knocked out a few records, and decided to do a project. The ultimate thing about it is two young, aggressive cats in Hip Hop just trying to continue the essence of rap. That's why a lot of people look at us as the forefront guys. We'll take that responsibility. We come for an era where we listen to the Jay-Z's, the Nas', the Big's, and Pac's. And we respect that."
Lamar explained that there's a reason that he doesn't reach out for big names on his features because he likes new talent and new faces. He explained that he loves reinventing, and that's what he and Cole bring to the game that's been lacking."You got it man. I don't watch hockey." SidVish"I thought LeBron James was just going to be another addition to help me score."
Ricky Davis"The difference between stupidity and genius is that genius has its limits." Albert EinsteinComment
