I guess my expectations after Illmatic were so high that he's never lived up IMO, so I just haven't given any of his newer stuff a chance.

It Was Written is just as good if not better than Illmatic. The Lost Tapes is amazing too. I'm a huge Nas fan though. He is the second greatest rapper behind Jay-Z of course, so my opinion might be biased.

A little late. Probably 10 years ago. I listened to rap really young, but I've become a listener of everything and am kind of on the side of Illmatic being one of the greatest albums ever.

In my 23 of soon to be 26 years of living and growing up in/around DC, I have never EVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVV VVVVVVVER(word to Chris Jericho) heard that term or see/hear one STRAIGHT man calling another STRAIGHT man that mess.

If you or anybody else meet someone from DC one day, ask them if they've heard that and I guarantee you'll get the same answer LOL.

Has more to do with the fact that Nas rinsed his *** in their beef than blind Stanning. Nas is also better technically, just hasn't had Jay's level of commercial success.

Too far away from his style, doesn't really sound like a Gambino project. And too many features. But I'm not worried, it's only a mixtape and he said he was just experimenting with some new things.

Plus Gambino, more than anyone else, proved that you can be honest on a track, even at the sacrifice of stereotypes and other preconceived ideas and still be successful. He won't sell out

I like this song of the Gambino tape. I don't know what it is but I just dig soulful beats. Not even the horrendous singing that was just atttempted in this song by that dude Chance makes any difference .
