Haven't listened to the rest of the album because I can't get past Track 2.

"VERSACE OUTFIT COST ME 3000!!!" Love it lmfao
I knew that line sounded familiar.

The 2 Chainz verse and the same beat got leaked a month or 2 ago on an DJ Clue tape. I think the song was called Twilight on that tape.

Listened to most of the songs, it sounds like a solid Album. I didnt really like his last mixtape "California Republic". But, Game has been putting out Solid Albums out with great production.

I wish Childish Gambino released a new mixtape every month.

            Logic is dope.

Kendrick Lamar is the most talented doing it right now. GKMC basically shut down the rest of my ipod since it dropped.

Edit: I truly hate how Youtube has changed its layout. Anyway, to see the video click play then hit the bar that says "Playlist". Scroll through it until you see Boss Giovani. Click the video. Your ears will thank you.

Anybody up on the Rick Ross/Gangster Disciples beef?

If so, what are ya thoughts? Lot of talk going on on the net about the recent vid of Ross downplaying the whole thing as "extortion".

MTV’s Rob Markman said it best, “There just needs to be more balance on both sides. Underground heads need to stop making records like it’s 1994 and radio has got to show more underground love.”

I would like a nice balance of different types of hip hop on the radio. Whenever I turn it on, I hear the same 6-10 songs on the two stations in my area.

I can honestly care less at this point though. Most people have iPods and AUX cords in their cars. I have no need for the radio, I understand they can't please everyone. Haven't cruised with the radio on in at least a year.

With the advent of high speed streaming and the stuff available on the internet the radio is becoming obsolete for artists now. I know the whole bull**** just went down with Hot 97 and stuff but honestly no one outside of program directors and label execs care about radio.

Hell I only listened to the radio recently because I lost power for 10 days due to Sandy. Before that I haven't listened in about 5 years

Re: Official Hip Hop/Rap Music Thread

I thought the radio was gonna die off myself but its actually more popular than ever. Its all about the personalities in the booth nowadays. As for the music, radio as well as MTV has mainly been about creating buzz for whatever artist a label wants to have showcased at the time. It turns a so called "underground" artist into a "mainstream" artist. For example, Kendrick Lamar couldn't have reached his status today by just word of mouth and internet vids. He needs the DJs accross the country to spin his music in order to reach the masses.

As for underground music, the reason why it doesn't get played on the radio is because underground artist lack the proper promotional budget to pay these execs for spins.

Most people believe that radio is becoming obsolete but it still remains one of the most effective ways at promoting an artist today.
