I don't think there's going to be any in-between when it comes to how people feel about this new Kanye music. It's either going to be considered amazing or trash.

My man Areobee is gonna like this:

Harry Fraud announced to The Source earlier today that he and Bronson are planning to release an album together this summer titled Saab Stories. Although Fraud kept tight-lipped about the extent to which they've been working together and they features they've secured, he did say that the duo have enough material for two projects.
“Right now we have enough material for two projects," he explained. "We’re definitely going to do an LP. Right now it’s called Saab Stories—Saab as in the automobile company. You can lookout for it in the summertime. Already we’ve got records and features on there that are going to have people blown away at the fact that we’re working with these artists. We have **** on there that they’re not even ready for. We got a lot of surprises.”

                    J. Cole and Kanye are both releasing June 18th.

As a fan (or stan) of both.....

Also, RIP J. Cole sales numbers.

Re: Official Hip Hop/Rap Music Thread

And Mac, for those who care haha. I'm most excited about his album because I've always been a fan but I really like the direction he's going with the **** he's put out lately, The End Is Near with Ab-Soul is still my favorite song of the year, and Watching Movies was awesome. It should be infinitely better than Blue Slide Park, which was terrible.

I'm interested to see what Cole comes out with, not excited necessarily because the only full project I've heard of his was Friday Night Lights, which I loved, but other than that, he bores me a little too often. I am looking forward to it, I hope he proves me wrong.

Hate to say it, but I'm infinitely less excited for the new album from our lord and savior, Yeezus after what's been released so far. I like New Slaves, but ****ing hate Black Skinhead more than almost any Kanye song I've ever heard. Even more than Drunk and Hot Girls. My intense hate for Death Grips won't allow me to like it at all, it reminds me way too much of them. Maybe it'll grow on me, but I dunno. I feel like Kanye is taking himself more seriously than he ever has, and I don't like that. And as much as it's annoyed me forever that Kanye seems to not understand that suicide doors don't go up ("let the suicide doors up, I threw suicides on the tour bus" "let up the suicide doors, this is my life homie you decide yours") it's actually really annoying me that he said "I keep it 300, like the Romans". What does that mean? The 300 people were ****ing Spartans, from Greece, this is common knowledge. If the rap doesn't make sense, take it out, don't just throw stuff in cause it rhymes. That's lazy to me.

I haven't heard it in a long time, and I didn't make it all the way through when I did. I want to re-listen to all of his stuff before the album comes out. I'll start tomorrow with The Come Up and work my way up. I normally like Cole, just haven't put in as much time with his stuff as I have with the others.

The Come Up, IMO, isn't that great. It has it's moments but nothing really jumps out to me. The Warm Up though is probably the best thing he's done as a whole with FNL being a close second.
