Thinking they shouldn't, that it makes them soft or whatever the stigma is now.

Honestly, I think it depends on the artist and always has.

I mean you never heard people(especially in the urban community)get up in arms over Jay Z doing an album with Linkin Park.

But I think this is spread out among all genres and not just Rap Artists themselves.

Maybe, but Linkin Park was always Rock/Rap crossover so it wasn't as huge a leap as making the jump from Rap to Pop or vice versa.

Plus he did that collaboration soon after The Black Album which had elements of rock in it, so the change up wasn't as drastic. Plus it's Jay-Z. This guy just rapped the same song for 6 hours in an art museum and was called a genius lol

Possibly but if you were to ask most people who only listen to Rap(when that collab dropped)they probably would've considered Linkin Park as more of a Rock Band(I probably would've too since I didn't listen to them prior to that).

Very true lol. He's probably the only one who could pull this off especially since in the eyes of many, everything he does and has done in great, he's never had a bad album and he can do no wrong lol.

Remember when Busta Rhymes tried to dip his foot in the Pop Genre Pool and he got killed for it?

Pack, that's just another time in hip-hop that I try to erase permanently. Which reminds me, Busta Rhymes should have stopped rapping about 8-9 years ago.

Guy recently came out with two successive songs called Shake It, and Twerk It. I'm going to go out on a limb here and say Busta has ran out of things to rap about.

A better question would be, remember when people actually checked for new Busta music? Me neither Pack, me neither.
