And I love Kendrick but the circle jerk is.played out for me at this point lol. The verse was good. I'm on mobile so I can't do it, but it someone could post Kendrick's old Monster freestyle where he called out actually big rappers and none of this fallout came from it.
You're overdoing it here. Maybe that would be the case, but I doubt it. For starters, Kendrick doesn't rely on a bunch of mostly corny metaphors for his verses. And even if people were to react more positively to Kendrick doing the same exact verse, there would be a reason for it, and no it's not out of some blind adoration. Kendrick just comes across on the mic way stronger in terms of his voice and presence. There's also a realness to Kendrick that Sean will just never have. One grew up on the streets of Compton, while the other was doing things like this:

But, for as much **** that does get talked about Big Sean, I won't lie and pretend that I don't listen to a good amount of his music. I don't think he's that great lyrically and a lot of his stuff sounds similar to me in that regard. There's also something about his personality that rubs me the wrong way. A phoniness or something, I guess. That being said, the music he puts out I usually tend to like. I think a big part of it has to do with the production he gets, with No I.D. being the major one, of course.

Anyways, since we're on the subject, here's the video for Beware. Not enough Jhene Aiko.

I like what Guru said in the video trob posted. Sean and Jay Elect dropped 30 on a night when Kendrick dropped 50.
More like Kendrick was the Game 7 Lebron of this year's Finals, Jay was Paul George in the ECF and Sean was Jason Kidd vs. the Pacers in the East Semis this year.

He did, and I'm actually surprised we didn't hear from him the day after it dropped seeing as he tries to keep his name relevant by any means necessary. Guy had to thank the guy he's dissing before he disses him because that same guy was the last time he got a little bit of the spotlight on himself.

Just listened to "Control" again. I may be in minority but I think Jay Elcetronia had the best overall verse. Kendrick had more pop and hungrier deliver but when you break it down I think Jay came with the best overall substance IMHO.

I rewound that part the first time I listened to it just to make sure that was actually what I heard.

But a certain realness? What does that even mean? Everyone's reality is different, I wasn't there for any of their childhood's. Kendrick's from Compton, so what? Like Detroit is the greatest place. What places classify as being real? Is Kanye real? Drake? Who has this realness that you speak of? I'd say Snoop's pretty ****ing real, look at the music he makes. He dropped a *** **** reggae album, which I actually liked a lot more than I thought I would.

Yeah I didn't know what he meant with the whole streets of Compton thing. Some of Detroit's best neighborhoods are worse than Compton and I've been to both.
