I think the most irritating thing about Big Sean time me is his voice! His word play is very elementary to the point of being corny! I agree DSP is better than HOF.

The thing with Sean is, he's got some gems and he's capable of holding his own when he's collaborating with other big time rappers (Clique, Control, Mercy, Burn, B-Boy, etc). It's just that it's more rare for that Sean to come out rather than the one dropping a bunch of corny *** lines and metaphors and just overall uninteresting ****. Guys like Cole and Drake catch a lot of heat for some of the corny lines they've let go, but for some reason it seems like Sean gets somewhat of a pass even though IMO he's the worst offender, almost on a past-his-prime Lil Wayne level at times.

Don't get me wrong, like I said earlier, Dark Sky Paradise is a decent album and much better than Hall of Fame was (which might not be saying a whole lot), but I've already deleted about 4-5 songs off the deluxe version after a few more listens.

Overall he's improved and his quality of his work has gone up. I personally hold him in a higher regard than I did a year or two ago. I just don't think he's going to improve too much more from here because I don't think he has very much to add to his lyrical content.
This pretty much sums up Big Sean lol

I don't mind his lazy flow, but it is the lame punchlines and the weird off beat rapping that he stumbles into at times. I don't really ever have an expectation for Big Sean records, so when I do hear something good from him it is an added bonus.

I feel that DSP is definitely far and way his best project and I actually enjoyed a majority of it but I agree, I really don't see him progressing much musically from here. He is what he is at this point.

This is a really cool feature Adidas Originals is running where they combine a producer and artist from two genres to create something unique.

I'm bitter I don't get to do something like this. Tory is right up there as my favorite artist.

Well there's no denying Drake is an impressive live performer...but I was pretty disappointed with his set list last night - it may have had almost 30 tracks "officially" but I'd reckon only half of them were full songs.

So many of favourite older album cuts were either only single verses or even choruses only...for Crew Love he just had The Weeknd's intro part on the track then cut it off before his own verse?! He also rapped a lot of his feature verses which I was never really a fan of like the recent Blessings and Tuesday features. But to be fair he did play two of his latest album cuts Energy and Legend to close the gig.

So ultimately a great gig which could've been a lot better for me personally with a better, more fulfilling set list.

Who is that in that video? That is Kanye?

The Kanye I know don't rap like that anymore. Didn't know he still had that in him.

So I was at a wedding in Cancun and saw this on TV late night

                                <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/4NxTlKkHB5U" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

I'm a big Glover fan and like his verse on that. I realized I haven't looked for new music in awhile. Ended up seeing that Lupe, Gambino, and Drake all had new (to me) albums.

Decided to come on here and see what other stuff I may have missed or what people were saying.

I don't even view this as a mixtape. This is an album. This has surpassed Take Care for me as his best work. From top to bottom this project is damn near flawless. I can't even envision anyone putting out something that will top this this year, hell not even himself. From production, to lyricism, to just making quality songs that have replay-ability. Drake is on another level right now. Every lane that he steps in to, he puts in work. The only artist that can go from making a song like Jungle to 6pm In New York, then put them on same album and make them feel like they both belong.

Say what you want about Drake, but you have to respect him and his place in Hip Hop's short history. No one else in the game, hell maybe no one even in the last decade (sans like Pharrell) has been able to transcend multiple genres and make his music accessible to damn near everyone, even the casual listener that might not like hip hop.

Still crazy to me that this isn't even the album that he actually planned on dropping this year. I feel bad for anyone who chose to drop an album/mixtape this month. Bad timing. This one will be getting spins for a long time.

There's maybe 2 songs I don't care for (Company and You and the 6 -- still might grow on me though). I almost slept on Jungle but that and Legend are probably my two favorite songs to this point. Also gotta love Know Yourself because who doesn't love shouting "I WAS RUNNING THROUGH THE SIX WITH MY WOES!"?

Have to say it's getting harder and harder to deny Drake's place in the game now. It's pretty wild that Wheelchair Jimmy can come out of the blue and drop a gold album with the only press being some Twitter rumors before release. And Views From The 6 is still coming out later this year. If IYRTITL is any indication, that's just going to further cement Drake at the top.

Also, listened to the new Big Sean album today. It's okay. A hell of a lot better than Hall of Fame, that's for sure. Aside from the singles with Blessings and IDFWU, there's a couple standouts like All Your Fault, One Man Can Change The World, and the Outro track has an awesome Kanye beat attached to it. Overall it's listenable but I don't think it has much staying power compared to 2014 Forest Hills Drive and If You're Reading This It's Too Late.
First of all, I like Drake. I'm a fan of his music. Second of all, the only song I've listened to on his new album is Legend so far. Since I'm a fan of Drake, I'll probably like his album when I do end up listening to it, but that Legend track is alright at best. I don't understand all the love. Admittedly, I listened to Tetsuo & Youth first, but I listen to something like Mural or Prisoner 1&2, and wonder how Drake is so highly rated or considered this king of hip hop. I know music is subjective and I'm a big Lupe fan, but still, I can't put Legend anywhere near a song like Mural.
