First decent Andre 3000 verse I've heard in a while.

There are some real dope tracks on Channel Orange.

        Lost
        Pink Matter
        Pyramids
        Super Rich Kids

The album as a whole is very solid. Subject matter on some songs just isn't for me. Only kept the songs listed above. Won't be purchasing the album.

Curren$y's new tape is too short. Harry Fraud and him need to put out a full length project. I felt like Don Johnson on my way to work this morning.

A NORTH PHILLY preacher isn't offering an "amen" to a Philly rapper's most recent offering.

The Rev. Jomo K. Johnson is calling for a boycott of Meek Mill, one of Philly's most popular hip-hop artists, after being offended by the lyrics of Mill's new single.

Such pronouncements might be predictable if Johnson were one of the usual suspects in the culture wars: some old fart who didn't understand hip-hop or the environment about which Mill sings. But that's not the case. Johnson is practically the same age as Mill, and he grew up listening to much of the same music and having many of the same influences as Mill did. Johnson's church, moreover, the Philly Open Air Church on Germantown Avenue, isn't far from where Mill — born Robert Williams — grew up.

When are they gonna realize that religion is slowly being played out. Mainly through hip hop music. Alot of admitted atheist out here lately.

Lord Finesse is suing Mac Miler for $10 million.

It's common for a rapper to spit over a classic instrumental on a free mixtape release, as was the case with Mac Miller using Lord Finesse's 1995 "Hip 2 Da Game" instrumental for his breakout cut "Kool Aid & Frozen Pizza" off his 2010 K.I.D.S. mixtape. Well, Lord Finesse is now suing Mac Miller for $10 million over unauthorized use of his instrumental. According to Courthouse News Service, the complaint says, "This is a case about a teenage rapper- Mac Miller- copying the music from a song written, produced and performed by Lord Finesse, a hip hop legend, changing the title and then distributing it under his own name in order to launch his music career."
In addition, CNS says Finesse filed the lawsuit only after DatPiff, who launched and hosted the mixtape, Mac Miller, and his label Rostrum Records, refused to respond to a cease and desist letter earlier this month. The CNS report also states that the $10 million lawsuit "alleges copyright infringement, unfair competition, unjust enrichment, interference, deceptive trade practices, and a number of related state law claims." Finesse took to Twitter tonight to comment on the lawsuit. See his Tweet below. No word from Mac Miller as of yet, though.

Hip hop artists have been sampling other artists for over 20 years. At what point did it become hip hop to sue another artists for it? He should feel honored that young artists are still paying homage by using his music. Not to mention this was only a mixtape track. If this were done on an album and the samples weren't cleared I'd understand.

I swear it feels like some of these old heads don't want new artists to make any money.

I think it's hilarious but that's simply because I don't like Mac Miller.

Stupid, I don't mind Mac Miller some of his stuff blows and some is not bad. Seemingly tho every rapper has sampled old stuff on a mix tape.

                          Its really sad.

He'd have a case if the song was being sold.

I guess all cover song should not be permitted?

i think its pretty weak and horrible for an old head to resort to this. the mixtape game is what keeps hip hop alive and fresh. if we all had to wait for our fav artist to drop official songs and be at the mercy of the labels and all their bs and red tape, we'd die of boredom. hell, some of our fav artist may not have ever even come out if they didnt do their own thing and drop mixtapes/unofficial songs and start their own buzz and grind for themselves. for some artist, we'd never get to hear their true personality without the label's influence if it wasnt for mixtapes. its the best promo around. mac didnt get paid from it directly (of course he did indirectly...but u cant nail that down as a sure thing so u cant sue for it).

i gotta agree with u tho areabee, if i was an old artist i'd be happy and proud that someone decided to use my old work and saw the value in it. i woulda reached out personally and dropped a few gems/jewels on mac, so maybe he could in turn make the kinda music someone else will wanna sample later and move the genre forward...."each one, teach one" kinda deal.

No disrespect because people are going to like what they are going to like, but christ this was atrocious. I think there was more sound effects in this song, then there was actually lines.
