I feel like I'm missing something with this performer. It could be the fact that I'm 39 years old and grew up during the 80's, 90's and 2000's Hip Hop eras and I'm missing the point, but is he serious? As in, is he a serious performer? I feel like my Dad when I was a kid and he said to me, "this is not music!" I would get so upset with him, but now I find myself saying the same thing.

Hip Hop has reinvented itself many times, but I don't get this performer and some of the other ones that Fly3 posts. I'm not knocking it, music is a personal choice...it moves everyone differently. But do these performers make money, or do they only release YouTube videos. My students that I teach (high school) don't like Lil B, but they like some of the other artist that Fly3 posts.

I like "newer" artists like Cool Kids, Dom Kennedy, Kendrick Lamar (I know they have been around for a while), etc. I'm just not "getting" this music. I feel so old.

Aight guys here it is: my review of Devin the Dude the album. Keep in mind I'm pretty baked so this might not be the most coherent review haha:

So coming into this I'd heard a lot about this dude from Pack and then one of my friends told me I need to listen to him. Came to the Internet, saw Snoop called him your favorite rapper's favorite rapper, asked Pack for albums, and here I am. The first song's beat is super trippy. I got a real Curren$y vibe from it. Which is a compliment from me cause Curren$y's beats are always nice. The second song's beat was even better. With a Scarface feature. I love Scarface. So that song was legit. Without going into a song by song review, the entire album was awesome. I like the laid back atmosphere to it. Whereas people like Wiz use the beat to give it a stoner vibe, this album was really good for just having general relaxed beat, and then the way he rhymes gives it that vibe. Super relaxed. My favorite songs are definitely Georgy, I Can't Quit, and The Dude. That was a great start to the album. 4 out of 5 lighters haha.

I've raised my opinion of Ace Hood since Starvation 1. It's only risen higher since he released Starvation 2. It's a really solid mixtape.

Is it any coincidences that the two beats Young Chop produced were the best songs on the mixtape?
