      Re: Terminator Salvation

Just got back from watching it and it lived up to all my expectations heading into it. I know some have said its "story lite" but I found there to be enough of a story but not too much that it got in the way of the insane action scenes they had throughout. I think it did a good enough job to set the table for the next two and I enjoyed every minute of this move.

If I had to nitpick a little, when they said the line "Come with my if you want to live" it seemed like it was almost said in passing, it just didnt carry the same strength or have the same impact that it could have been if they had used it at a different time in the movie. Other then that though I have no complaints.

I agree, not a perfect movie, but very enjoyable.

          I enjoyed it.

Not the best movie i've seen this summer but a solid second.

          1. Star Trek
          2. Terminator Salvation
          3. State of Paly
          4. 17 Again
          5. Ghost of Girlfriends Past
          6. Wolverine

Wolverine would be lower, but so far I've only seen six movies in theaters this summer.

            Re: Terminator Salvation

I saw it last night. The first half I was thinking "boy i'm going to really rip this movie as being just a bunch of stuff blowing up, zero story and a feeling of "how much longer is this movie??" but then the second half was much better and far more interesting as the story (story-lite as others have said) actually came into focus.

I think it's one of the loudest movies i've ever seen. If you have a new home stereo system this is the movie to get on Blu-Ray to demo it out I think. It's also probably a movie you should see at the theaters due to the sound and images.

I also think it's the worst of all of the Terminator movies. Which still isn't bad because I hold the other Terminator movies in pretty high regard, even the red-headed stepchild Terminator 3. Yes I enjoyed Terminator 3 more than this movie. I have watched that movie several times and I can't imagine ever wanting to see this movie again.

I also would like to say that this movie is an amazing testament to just how far CGI has come. I very rarely thought to myself "oh that's CGI" in this movie when probably a huge amount of it was. The CGI and action was done unbelievably well. This is a true summer movie with lots of loud action and crap blowing up.

            I give it a 7.5 out of 10.

I actually liked it better than part 3. The second half was definetly more interesting.

Until the ending for me at least. Ending was absolutely brutal for me.

What would be hilarious (to me at least) is if at the end of this new trilogy they reveal that John Connor was really a terminator the entire time and made up this history to lead humans to their end.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

I actually gotta agree there, I had forgotten how bad the ending was, and it was bad thats for sure.

I too would welcome this and would have no problems if they went with this in the end at all.

For me the beginning had this whole where the hell is this movie going vibe. Suddenly it picked up a lot for me and actually turned out to be good. I am glad that it wasn't anything like the first 3 movies. I love the first 3 movies a lot, but I don't think I could have taken a fourth movie with the same premise. The first three movies are so similar in nature in story. This one was refreshing for me and helped move the franchise forward.

One thing that I didn't like was the cuts from scene to scene. In some scenes it just didn't flow right. I don't know what it is.

Hell yeah. I noticed this too.

Me and my friend looked at each other like "what the hell?" on a few scene changes.

We felt like there were a couple of scenes they could have even dropped completely.
