and yeah i'm not in love with the direction but I thought the show had a 1 season shelf life anyway. That said i'll still watch it, nothing better to do 9pm monday.

Agreed. I'm excited for the day her character is killed off for good.

I liked the stuff involving Sylar, Peter, and Parkman, but was bored out of my mind with Hiro, Nathan, and especially Saresh's stuff (with the exception of Maya).

I wish Heroes would get back to the dark feeling season 1 had. Season 2 and the start of Season 3 feel way too NBC'd to me.

Jesus, these two episodes werent dark enough for you? We had a horror movie scene with Claire and Sylar, the escaped villans set a man on fire, Suresh's skin was peeling off and a dream sequence where most of the main characters were brutally murdered. It was plenty dark for me.

Seriously - dude was sitting there buring a woman alive, we had that flash forwars sequence with people's throats slit/decapitated, and the aforementioned horror movie scene....and it isn't dark enough for people? That's more "darkness" than was in the entire second season.

As for the - "too much happening for one episode" comments: it wasn't one episode. It was two. They could have only played one last night and saved the second hour for next Monday - would everyone have been complaining that there was just too much going on then?

Like I said - I loved the episodes last night. Other than the Hiro storyline (though, I've never liked Hiro so I can ignore it like usual) they are setting up for some badass things with Parkman, Sylar, Peter and the Villains storylines. But since everyone here seemed to hate the premier, I'll take my Heroes talk elsewhere and leave this thread for the bashing, confusion, and disliking of the show.

I was a little disappointed with the show but I think you guys are piling on too much. I agree that they tried to jam too much into the first two hours that made it a bit confusing and the flow was lacking. The first hour wasn't that good but the second hour got better.

Most of the shows in the past centered on a few characters as they really focused on particular story lines. This opening set the stage for everyone so they could get back to that in the next few episodes. Everyone complained about how slow the second season was and so they were racing a little too fast this time. Nothing will match the charm of the first year but I think some of you guys need to at least give the show a couple more episodes before you bail.

Without question. The first episode was the lesser of the two. Very underwhelming.

The only things I hated were the "Mother" turn and the fact that they are playing a little too loose with the going back in time and Peter's powers thing. Everything else I liked alot. I do agree that they probably should have killed off a few Heroes by now. Right now we are following 9 heroes and they are adding more.

I really liked the premiere. The pacing was hectic, but I'm sure that will improve now that the plotlines have been established. One thing I don't like is main characters being killed, then brought back. It's time to get rid of that plot device.

I like the episodes last night too. I'm surprised to hear you say that you don't like the Hiro story lines though, he's always been my favorite character and I wish they would focus more on him.

Also I need less of Claire, who's just not that hot and a terrible actress, and more of Elle, who's smoking hot and has an intriguing character.

My only complaint, and I have this for a lot of shows/movies that involve time travel, is this: you can't really go back in time and change the future, because the "future" should have already accounted for you doing that...so this whole butterfly effect thing doesn't really make sense. Unless someone can fully explain this, I think the time travel aspect is just kind of a cheap plot device

Season 1 felt dreadful cause of the constant off-screen threat of Sylar, which is 10x more dark to me than showing gore-like horror movie scenes like we saw last night. Season 1 left much to the imagination, where as last night they threw everything right in front of our faces. Two different kinds of darkness.

I will still watch and enjoy the show, however I dislike how they've "humanized" Sylar. Yeah. I'm not a fan of the time travel stuff you see in some movies or TV shows either. It can be done well but the whole two bodies in the same room from different time dimensions is just odd.
