    Re: Oliver Stone's W

Its a Stone flick so you know its going to be slightly over the top. I laughed when they cast Thandie Newton (who is cute) to play Condi (who is not) but they found a way to ugly up Thandie. The guy they have playing Rove looks like him though.

I dont know how you can do a complete movie about Bush's life in 2 1/2 hours. His transformation from a drugged up party boy to Gov. of Texas could be a complete movie in its self. Thats not even including the Presidential stuff like the 2000 election, his 9-11 response (the high point of his first term) and the Iraq cluster****.

Ah, Oliver Stone...the man I can't decide if I like or if I hate. This will probably be a rather biased, over-the-top work and he'll throw some conspiracies in there to top it off too. I'll probably see it for kicks and giggles when I can (depening on if it gets a wide release or not)

I love Any Given Sunday. Its not flawless but its a good sports flick. World Trade Center was a well done flick and that came out 3 yrs ago. Imo, 2 out of his last 3 films have been good.

I'm sure it will be biased, but I doubt it will change anybody's mind. Bush supporters won't see it and Bush haters will love it.
I'd rather see a W movie starring Will Ferrell. "Presidenting is hard!"

I've seen Death of a President. I thought it was a well done what if documentary and despite all the hoopla, it wasn't some vast left wing nutjob film that many people said it was.

That's all I'll say about it.

but "JFK" and "Nixon" were pretty entertaining imo (although JFK was pretty over the top and exaggerated)

Uh, yeah, right. Whatever you say there, Oli.

Plus, throw in Josh Brolin, whose left-wing father along with Barbara Streisand (who I despise with a passion) are a couple of the biggest hypocrites in Hollywood, and I doubt this thing will be unbiased. I won't see it in a theater but maybe when it's free on a movie channel.

I would watch it I suppose if the guy who portrayed GW from the Harold & Kumar movie played in it. That was hilarious... Over the top, but still funny.
