I agree, but I wish he would have been more badass in II and III. My 2nd choice would be Robert Mitchum as Max Cady in Cape Fear.

from those not mentioned i've always loved General Chang from Star Trek 6 and i'd be completely worthless if i didnt mention Wolf Stansson from D2, for god's sake he totally cheapshotted and SLASHED coach Bombay in his BAD KNEE from behind.

Yeah I enjoyed the Joker too much, I mean when you think of bad guy it's someone you hate, you never hate the Joker, you kinda cheer for him. So that being said Agamemnon, I hated that SOB.

Whatever the **** the preacher woman in the movie The Mist's name was. She takes the cake for me - I've never wanted to kill a character myself as much as I did with her.

Ok, going by a definition of villain that says that they aren't good guys in the end (Vader in Episode 6), here's just a few I can think of that pop out at me. By the way, I'd have Gollum in there but that's a tough decision as to whether or not he's a villain.

As you can see, most of my favoites are so because of the depth they are given throughout the length of a series of movies of shows. That's what gives Tavington and The Joker even more acclaim IMO.

I understand why so many people pick the Joker, b/c his performance was terrfic, but in all respect he is also the most recent.People forget about things in the past and stay current. If it was up to me I would say Joker and Vader. Ask me in 5 or ten years when The Dark Knight is old.

I'd have to disagree about Commodus. While the guy that played him did a good job, I think the character as a whole came across as basically a teenager who never thought things through enough and didn't realize the consequences of his actions. It wasn't so much he was just pure evil, it was: something bad happened for him, so he tries to make it go away, which doesn't work so he gets more desperate, which doesn't work so he gets more desperate, then he thinks he won, but really didn't. I never really got the feeling from him that he was a huge evil force that I get from other big villians.
