We're seeing it here. It's sad. I mean, there really wasn't much depth to the show anyway but it's tough to do the same sort of schtick and have fresh material.
You can even have a discussion about that. I think Cheers dropped off considerably after Shelly Long left (just my opinion but shared by many others), and Frasier just wasn't as good later on.

I liked the Cheer's "drop off" episodes a lot more. For the record I watched every episode of both series.

The last episode was awful, however I still think the 2nd half of last season and a couple episodes of this season have been solid, and I'll continue to tune in.

Frankly, I don't even get why they would even make this episode. The whole humor of this show comes from the characters interactions with each other and their ridiculous conversations. Yes, their plots are usually crazy and the situations humorous, but by and large the majority of the shows funny parts are not plot driven, but character driven and how those characters respond to those situations they are in. And this was the exact opposite of what they do well.

Having an entire episode focused around 1 character (arguably the least funny of the characters) in which none of the other characters are featured with plots of their own (and very minimal camera time at all) is a recipe for disaster. Heck, Charlie, Mac, or Dennis' would have a hard time pulling off a script like this, nevermind Frank.

They'd be better off having an entire episode of them sitting in a room having a conversation than they would this garbage. I guarantee I'd laugh my *** off if they just filmed 22 minutes of the gang talking about random ****.

I actually think that would be pretty funny if they had an episode of just the gang getting into their arguments/conversations just sitting at the bar. Certainly would have been better than last week's episode.

When Dennis saw the weather chick and Heart's "How Do I Get You Alone" started playing, I lost it.

Dennis wasn't acting like a winner at all while hitting on her. He was acting like a fatty.

Show's becoming bland for me as this season drags on. I'll still watch it, but it's a watch once, laugh a couple times, and delete off the DVR affair for me now.

I wasn't crazy about this episode. Maybe I was too focused on the weather girl.

I agree JayBee. There were some good parts, but it was an average Sunny episode. Anything was better than last week.

Yeah, average episode, but it had some classic Sunny moments.

Charlie with the hatchet, Dennis following the weather girl in the background of the newscast with a random blazer, Cricket trying to play off the hole in his hand, Frank thinking a gun is all he needs to protect himself against a storm (or anything else), Dee's robopocolypse fear....

.... and my favorite scene when they first go to the bunker. I never get tired of Mac's facial expressions.

Dennis: "I don't rape girls here" (Mac nods his head "yes" slowly)

Charlie: "And I don't eat that many pickled eggs" (Mac nods more fervently)

We don't count Sons Of Anarchy?

The episode did have it's moments.

I think we can all agree that "Operation Fat Mac" was at best, unnecessary. The old Mac, who was in good shape, but delusional about how good, was really funny. Not that Mac isn't funny anymore, but where's the karate?

Yeah I've been a little disappointed in the shows lack of acknowledgment that Mac is fat. It was terrific in the first ep, but ever since then they have pretty much ignored the fact that he's fat, other than some subtle stuff.

Solid episode last night, not amazing, but it has some good moments. I was in hysterics when the camera keep panning on the reporter and Dennis was in the background.

I don't know what it is, but Sunny's "chaos" moments (usually to end the episode) are unlike anything else on TV. It's something they've mastered.
