Re: It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia

This is rebranding. They are changing Fox Soccer Channel to FXX because they are changing Speed into their new 24-hour sports network, Fox Sports 1. That new sports channel will carry what's left of the soccer they still have rights to, which took a big hit when NBC got the English Premier League.

    According to Wiki:

The slate of programming on FXX will initially include some former FX series: comedies It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, The League, Legit, and late-night show Totally Biased with W. Kamau Bell.[6] Totally Biased will expand to five nights a week when it moves to FXX. Additionally, a fourth original FXX comedy will be produced.[6] It also will air reruns of Parks and Recreation, How I Met Your Mother, Rescue Me, Arrested Development, Sports Night and Freaks and Geeks.[7] FXX has picked up its first original series, Chozen.
My main concern is that my cable provider currently does not carry FSC in HD. I'm hoping this moves directly to HD on launch because it looks like something I would be interested in.

Well, that answers my questions. I have Speed and FSC. I am really interested in Fox Sports 1 as a bigger threat to ESPN that NBC Sports right now. But at least I will still have the League and Sunny when the switch happens. It does beg the question, what is happening to FX?

FX must be focusing on more of their serious shows, with the exception of Wilfred in the summer and their obsession of Charlie Sheen.

Kind of weird they are even moving Always Sunny given it's one of their more popular shows, but oh well if it's still on my TV i'm good. Also yes to Parks and Rec reruns.

You have to give people a reason to watch the new channel. Plus, they're going after the show's demographic with this new channel.

I guess it means they may be able to charge more to cable/satellite companies???

Which is not good for me. My cable company is super cheap. They still don't carry The Big Ten network and I live 90 miles from the U of I.

Yes, they will be trying to get another channel in the same package as FX currently is. The only way to do that is to move shows that people actually watch. If you don't have established shows that people will miss, you have little leverage and most people won't even know they are missing your channel.

FXX is tied into the Sports Package we got in my apartment at school. I'm excited.

Is there any reason why they moved Always Sunny and The League to Wednesday nights?
