    Paul Newman

I knew he was getting there, but I didn't realize he was this close. He headed home from the hospital as he told his family/friends he wants to die there.

Makes sense obviously, just sad to see he feels he's this close.

A true icon. How many Hollywood types can say they've stayed married for 50 years? Amazing actor and I'm sure people who were able to be close to him in his life would say an amazing guy.

          Damn

I don't like a lot of the movies he's done but what the ones that I like, I like VERY much. He's a great actor who's done so much great work. He's truly an icon. It's sad to see that he only has weeks to live but at least he'll go with some dignity.

I feel the same way. He took some roles that I just didn't care for at all. At this point, his real life is playing out like "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof". At least he was able to go home to die.

Sorry to see this happening. He had such an easy manner about him that he almost seemed indestructible. The Sting is still my favorite movie of all time and classics such as The Hustler, Somebody Up There likes Me, and Butch Cassidy And The Sundance Kid are some of my favorites as well.

Always liked his work....watched The Sting for the first time a few weeks ago and it instantly became one of my all time favorites. Will be sad to see him go and hopefully he doesn't have to suffer to much.

Sad to see him like this, but at least we'll be at home when he does go. Not only has he been on the great actors, but he's donated a lot of money from the profits of his food company, Newman's Own.

I actually got to meet Paul Newman at the 1987 Indy 500 when I was 10. My dad had connections to the Newman-Haas tent since his friend from college was good friends with Mario Andretti. We got to hang out in the back area but I got to meet him and shake his hand at one point, which was pretty cool. Sad to see that he's on his way out. He's lived a helluva life.
