I feel the same way.
Originally the Producers of the series wanted to call the show Sarah Connor Chronicles. Fox made them add the Terminator to the title, this was, IMO, to lure, or "trick" viewers into thinking that the show was going to be different then what it is.
They may have even pulled the same move that they pulled with Dollhouse, ordering the early scripts to have a different slant then the Exec. Producers wanted.
Its possible or even probable that the show might have garnered better ratings if they had continued down that road, but even as they go down in flames, I'm glad the Show Runners decided to tell the story they wanted to tell, and not pander to a different audience. Me, luvmist and 3 other people might be the only ones who like how the narrative is playing out, but it is what it is.
