I can listen to Francesa, especially his NFL shows on Sunday morning. But, that's just me.

Re: Chris Russo leaving WFAN (NY related)
Ugh, I just realized...no more Friday late afternoon predictions with Mike & Chrissy with all the NFL music and stuff.
No lie, listening to that got me through a few falls and winters when I was unsettled and needed to calm down.Comment

Re: Chris Russo leaving WFAN (NY related)
I do think Francessa is about as knowledgeable as it gets about the NFL. Baseball he's ok, just seems like he's a little stuck in the past and is out of touch with how some things have changed over the last few years.
He sounded sincere with his crying and saying how he loved the fans and he wanted to retire at WFAN on Friday, but he's got a funny way of showing it the rest of the year.Originally posted by Jay BilasThe question isn't whether UConn belongs with the elites, but over the last 20 years, whether the rest of the college basketball elite belongs with UConnComment

I listened to Francesa interview Mangini and Favre yesterday.... Talk about uncomfortable. Mike was trying to schmooze and act all comfortable with them, but it just seemed very forced and contrived.Comment

Re: Chris Russo leaving WFAN (NY related)
A lot of you are crazy. Before I was a teacher, I had an afternoon job dropping off handicapped people at their homes. Mike and the Mad Dog were basically on my entire shift. Their Superbowl contests were amazing, their baseball stuff was always great (and I don't even watch much baseball anymore) and those Friday afternoon football picks would get me pumped for Sunday and for the weekend in general. I will miss the days where they talked about movies and actors and books. I subscribed to Sirius to listen to Stern, but Mike and the Maddog were a duo that I truly loved to listen to and one that I've been listening to since I was 12 (and I'm 30). I've listened to Stern for nearly as long, but I won't miss him as much as I'll miss the pairing of those two.
Either way...welcome to Sirius, Mr. Russo! The line must be drawn HERE! This far, no further!Comment

The NBA is impossible to watch, too many black players with all those tatoos.....
Too many hispanics on the Mets,........
Strahan wants to be on our show,........
For every good part on the show there were countless times where they just said things that made no sense.Comment

Re: Chris Russo leaving WFAN (NY related)
This really sucks because Mad Dog made Francesa tolerable. WFAN has went downhill big time. It used to be incredible with Mack and Sid preceding Mike & the Mad Dog and then Sid and Beningo before Mike & the Mad Dog. Now there's nothing I want to listen to on WFAN besides occasionally being able to tolerate Steve Somers.Comment

He was a huge degenerate but he was the only vocal Giants fan on the Fan. I like him ten times more than hearing Joe Beningo talking about Evan Roberts's sex life.Comment

Re: Chris Russo leaving WFAN (NY related)
They got grief for it because it exemplified their inflated sense of self. The fact that Lidle died soon after that exchange gave fans who had long been detractors of them a platform to bash them. As I remember, most of the calls thereafter weren't really about "Oh, they shoulda been nicer to Lidle", it was "They're mean to everyone and think they know everything"Comment
