I don't know, they really hinted at Supes' son becoming a villain. I don't know if that's still the plan or if they're going in a totally different direction but i'd love to see the son being a little older and harnessing the powers that were going a bit out of control in the first movie. I think it'd make for an interesting movie.

I liked the first 20 minutes of Returns, beyond that it was incredibly boring. I didn't care for anyone in the cast at all, they just weren't convincing in their roles (though a lot of that had to do with the writing as well).
WB is planning a Superman reboot so you can probably count on the whole Superboy angle being dropped. I'd also be surprised to see any of the cast brought back.Comment

I thought Routh did a great job and should keep the role. Or maybe Tom Welling since this is probably the last season of Smallville“Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.”

Damn I miss that show I actually got a little sad thinking about that episodeIn the first season of The Wire, Omar is robbing a random crew who immediately runs into the stash house. Omar stands at the door and says "Omar can come back tomorrow. And the next day. But if you make me come back, I'll put a bullet in all of you behind what happened today." They reply with "You best roll out. We up in here with a Mac 10" to which Omar tells them "I thinks not Terrell. I thinks not." Then they drop the stash.Comment

I'm a fan, loved the last one, and looking forward to the next one. The only problem was the fact that he was too strong for what he was combating. Other than though, it was a solid one. I guess everyone is a fan of the darkside of villians now where death and stuff like that happen. The Dark Knight really brought desire into many people's eyes I see.......Comment

It simply makes for a (much) better movie, in my opinion. The whole "Take over the world" bit is played out and boring...which, in effect, makes Lex a boring villain.I'm a fan, loved the last one, and looking forward to the next one. Granted, I hate Superman with a passion because I find him overly boring, so I may be a bit biased.

Re: Superman Returns Sequal
problem with the movies is he needs someone who is gonna beat the living crap out of him or make it challenging, also the whole superman/clark kent maybe there is a way they can make it more believeable for the viewers that no one will suspect that superman is clarkComment

Re: Superman Returns Sequal
I think they need(ed) to have Lex already in control of some part of the world. Lex is more than just about taking over the world - he wants to take down Supes in the process. I don't really have a problem with the Clark Kent and Superman separation issues - Clark Kent is a bumbling, accident prone, spaced out borderline loon, thats why nobody thinks he's capable of being Superman.

Superman shows his face to everone. Clark Kent looks exactly like him with the same measurements.PS: You guys are great.

Reminds me of the scene in Not Another Teen Movie when they're talking about how ugly the main girl is.

Changing the Clark Kent "disguise" would ruin the whole Superman mythos. It's been 70 years and it hasn't been a big deal. It shouldn't be one now.
Also, anyone who thinks Lex Luthor is a boring villain clearly doesn't know Lex Luthor from the comics or even the animated series. There's a reason why he's Superman's number 1 nemesis.Comment

Re: Superman Returns Sequal
The disguise may have been believable 70 years, or even 30 years ago, but the viewing audience is much different these days. Luthor is a good enough villain but not for Superman especially ad nauseum. You can only do the kryptonite thing so many times. It's time to move on to another villain but then again it's hard to deny the fact that Superman is a superhero whose time has passed him by because his infallibility was attractive to kids years ago but is a severe crutch now because a large portion of the movie going public are adults. When people watched the Superman series in the 50's it was because they wanted to do it for the kids. Nowadays they want to watch for themselves.Changing the Clark Kent "disguise" would ruin the whole Superman mythos. It's been 70 years and it hasn't been a big deal. It shouldn't be one now.

The disguise isnt just the glasses it's the whole persona the clumsiness the mild mannerd reporter. But I love that it's something that my dad shared with me when I was young and now I am returning the favor with my 2 boys.
