I don't hate ESPN, they are what they are. I really only watch it for games they broadcast, Baseball Tonight, and to catch highlights on Sportscenter. Although during football season, I catch all the NFL highlights on the NFL Network, and I prefer their NFL Network's college football shows to anything ESPN offers.

It is what it is, and serves its purpose. Funny thing is, so many people claim to hate it, but they keep watching it.

Its the same thing with MTV.

Except only people with low self worth and/or lacking large quantities of integrity actually still tune into MTV.

I dunno, I tend to think that Cinderella sports stories like the Rays would pull in good numbers. I bet a Rays game against another contender would pull in just as good numbers as the other SNB matchups they've had so far this year.

I love the Cinderella stories. It's too bad the city of Tampa doesn't even care that their team is in first place. They are lucky to get 10,000 fans for a home game. In the same vein, I think the ratings would not be great either.

I cannot stand that guy.

He comes off as being soo full of himself..... and the one host radio thing does not work for me. He sits there and rambles on by himself for about 3 hours everyday.

Hearing his banter on a daily basis is sickening IMO.

His radio show is horrible.

The one host radio talk format can work but only if you have lengthy segments of call in (which ESPN Radio doesn't seem to do much of) and lots of interview segments. Unfortunately guys like Cowherd don't grasp that notion.

I get your point, but just because it makes them money doesn't mean we can't hate it. I mean I don't blame oil companies for making record profits, but at the same time I hate getting raped at the pump. I understand why they show the games, but it's still annoying to miss out on other quality games to see 22 of the 26 games between 2nd and 3rd place teams.

Also, the overkill, for me, takes the specialness out of it. Watching the two teams battle down the stretch for division and seeing Pedro throw vs. Clemens or Schilling vs Mussina doesn't have the same feel of importance when you've seen it be hyped over and over all year. In otherwords, when you watch Sox vs Yankee's in April, May, June, July and August, it's not as exciting in September.

Because of how they ruin a great idea like ESPN Classic. Ya, people want to watch old re-runs of American Gladiators and the 2002 WSOP. It should be nonstop NFL and NCAA right now 24/7 of classic games

SportsCenter is suppossed to be a news program. They are not supossed to pass on information based on ratings. They completely ignored the hockey playoffs. they shouldn't play favorites.

One other thing I hate is how they rerun their own commercials 3 million times a day.
