Why Do You Hate ESPN??

Like the topic title says, why do you hate ESPN or what don't you like about ESPN?

What are you reasons for not liking ESPN?

Just curious to hear why they catch so much slack over the years.

I hate ESPN because it isnt so much Sports news anymore..

It is more of "What is the drama going on in the sports world?"

Steriods, Scandals, Managers leaving teams after awhile (Joe Torre)

Now I wouldnt have a problem with it, but the fact is that they constantly beat a dead horse.

I think every 5 minutes for 2 weeks, there was an update on Joe Torre. Where he was eating, who he talked to, what he wore that day. Same went for Roger Clemens and Brett Favre.

We get it ESPN.

And then with 5 minutes left in the show, its "oh heres a twins highlight. A guy hit a HR, they won."

I don't hate ESPN and I really don't dislike that much either. I will occasionally turn it on. It's turned into more of a show than actual sports coverage though... kind of what has happened to the Weather Channel too.

I don't hate 'em. But back in '05 they sure did slurp up to USC Football alot. They had a series about the best football teams ever...ever. And they put the Trojans if not 1, then top 2 or 3. But then, they had 1 game left to play against Texas and they lost. Some guy had a sign that said how can USC be the best ever if their not the best of '05?

I hate ESPN because they do not focus on sports anymore or if they do, they only focus on a select number of teams primarily on the East coast. They are more about fluff and pimping they're "journalists." or personalities. ESPN is a sham and is what is wrong with sports on tv. They've gone "hollywood," or the MTV route where they've lost focus of what made them good.

The Who's Now contest epitomizes what I don't like about ESPN.

The sport doesn't mean as much as the players playing in on ESPN. The star plays are sensationalized, but rarely are games broken down beyond the home runs, slam dunks, and deep bombs anymore. I want to know why a team one, what philosophies and strategies they employed to meet their goal as a team to beat their opponent, and what the opponent tried to do that didn't work. Sure, if a particular player has a sensational game, he should be recognized, but the focus should be more about how the game reached a particular outcome, and not on a small handful of players' contributions to that outcome.

To that end I wish they'd change the camera on football broadcasts away from the end-to-end camera to a more Madden-esque chase camera, where the spectator can see the plays develop downfield.
