I cant wait for it I know we wont see Superman but I have heard that Clark should learn to fly this season. And to see the evolution of Doomsday is going to be cool.

I used to watch this show every week but for some reason stopped at season 5. I have no clue what is going on right now but want to get caught up.

Thanks for the heads up-I would have missed the opener. I'm very disappointed that my switch from Cox Cable to Direct TV means I won't be watching Smallville in HD.

Ok, I Love Love baseball................but I am about sick of this **** with WGN. Every TV show that I watch on there is getting pre-empted to a different day and time. Like tonight, both Smallville and Supernatural are on at 10-12 p.m.

It was a good episode, but for a season premier it could have been better

Around the 6th episode Clark goes to Jor El for something so he must get the krystal back that Tess has that builds the fortress.

A solid episode. Interesting to see Oliver Queen as a regular and Chloe finally a deserving second billed. Wonder how they'll work Doomsday into the mix? I liked the camaraderie between the heroes.

                          I did the same.
I got sick of the 'Freak of the Week' routine.
It also bothered the crap out of me how Clark refused to learn how to fly. I don't know why it erked me, but it did.
I was also growing tired of how every episode followed the same plot.

Freak of week does something bad. Clark investigates. At the 30 minute mark he busts into Lex's office and accuses him of having something to do with it.
Clark fights Freak after he/she/it attacks one of his friends - who, luckily, is knocked unconscious so Clark can use his super powers without being discovered. Wash, rinse, repeat.

Why on earth Lex never had cameras installed in his office is beyond me. Half of the show takes place there. Sure, Lex had cameras hidden all over town, but he didn't bother to place them in a room where countless strange acts and offenses have occurred??? Sure, that makes sense!

Anyway, I might return to this show if it's changed. I heard it has, but I'm basically in the same boat as you. I'm far removed from what's going on and I don't know if I want to waste hours catching up with past DVD's or reruns. And I don't feel like reading because that would also be a waste of time.

Money99 I would wait to see how this season goes first, if this one ends up being boring bad I wouldn't even waste the time getting caught up. But so far through 1 episode, it's pretty good

The Freak Of The Week, usually "meteor rock altered", mostly existed in Season 1, so I'm not sure that's a fair criticism of the show. Although the show was very successful in the first year I remember Kristin Kreuk commenting on how the freaks appeared too much that season. Many have jumped the Smallville ship. Viewership has steadily declined since Season 2.
