Re: It All Started with a Big...BANG!: The Official Big Bang Theory Thread

I thought something more serious might have accidentally happened between them. But that's one thing the show has been lacking for awhile, these Penny-Sheldon moments. Cause the Penny-Sheldon relationship is what made first few seasons so funny.

Also,I'm sure people heard Leonard Nimoy died. Sucks he was never truly on the show(he did a voice of himself in one episode, but that's it). I think he didn't want to do any sort of TV work, though would've been cool to have him on the show. Same with Shatner, don't know why he hasn't been on the show, but maybe one day he could be at least.

And maybe BBT will have an episode which mentions Nimoy dying? Or might that be abit too much for tv shows of today(touching on a real life thing such as someone dying)? Cause I could imagine an episode revolving around Sheldon finding out his hero died(already had something similar with Professor Proton, but I think Sheldon likes Nimoy more)

It was OK. I really expected more. I hope they make up for this week's disappointment, with a really good one for next week. I saw the preview for it. I think we're up for a surprise from this upcoming episode.

      Sheldon and his brain, YEAH!

Enjoyed it, and Penny-Sheldon is good stuff, but there are a lot of great character interactions besides that one.

The episode when they switched everyone up was a fun one to see how everyone did with a diff partner.

Howard-Amy were funny together(mostly cause of their whole Neil Diamond stuff) and Leonard-Bernadette was funny cause of how competitive Bernadette was.

lol, Bernadette/Amy were best parts of episode.

Amy mostly for her ping pong "defense"(or lack of defense). And Bernadette for trying to hard to get rid of that thing in the garage.

Funniest scene on the episode today.....Howard complaining about how he'll call tech support and some foreign person who knows no more than he does, answers the call. Then as soon as he calls, Rajs phone rings LOL.

I used to love this show. But somewhere in between Howard getting married & Sheldon's relationship with Amy,
it grew up without me. I still watch from time to time, but it's no longer Must See TV.

I'll watch it with my girlfriend because she still loves it but it started losing me a couple seasons ago and is stale to me now. Too many relationships maybe? Just seems the majority of the episodes kind of repeat themselves without moving forward.

Too many principle characters for a 30 min sitcom

I agree. I enjoyed the last episode as it didn't even have Amy in it. Amy barely featured in the episode prior to this one either. Bernadette's role has diminished the last few episodes as well. They need to use the comic book store again as a setting where the majority of the cast are in the same scenes at once. Like others have said, there are too many people otherwise if you are going to have a separate story for each couple on the show. If they try to incorporate too many stories in one episode it falls flat. I also miss the cheesecake factory as a setting.

I think they really could have went somewhere with Leonard and the boys buying the comic book store. They could have had a whole season of them cleaning it up and trying to fix things up. Penny showing them how to use tools, etc.

Then the ups and downs of owning a business. Could have been cool.

That is what I was hoping for, more of the core group of guys interacting and less of the individual relationships.

The comic book store stuff had so much potential, instead they just are like "all problems solved due to Howards mother" and then awhile later just randomly introduce some step-brother of Howards......Stuff like that on TV shows just sounds like they're running out of ideas abit.

Though what's happening this Thursday is an idea I'm surprised wasn't used sooner. It's about time that moment finally happens.

I still look forward to this show every week. This is the first show I've watched since Seinfeld that I've felt is consistently solid year after year.

                                Indeed...

The banter isn't as consistently clever as it was, but the "nose of the plane is still pointing up", which is all one can hope for in a creative endeavor that's endured for this long...

Looking forward to seeing Christine Baranski and Laurie Metcalf go at it tonight...

Top actresses playing very well drawn (albeit tertiary) characters...
