Exactly. I mean I know he's producing other stuff, but I can't really see him being some huge, huge star per se. Look at Friends, it's not like everyone goes onto huge things.

Seems like a great gig to be leaving, but he's probably set for life so can choose whatever he wants.

Doesn't mean he wants to be though. I'm sure after making the type of money he has, he can do whatever he wants and never have to worry about money again(as long as he doesn't waste it). Some might want to do bigger/better things while others are perfectly fine pursing their own personal projects.

And all shows are basically like that. How many top shows have multiple actors who stay anywhere near as big/famous as they were on that show? Friends like you mentioned, only 2 of them were still big afterwards.

True, all of them had successful post-Friends careers but Jennifer Aniston was miles ahead of that class.

But I'm sure the elevator will get fixed at some point. Almost has to be the way the show ends. Series began with them coming back to their apartment and seeing Penny moving in. Would only be fitting if it ends with someone moving out, and the final scene is at the bottom of the apartment with the elevator being fixed AFTER they finish moving all the boxes downstairs.

Final season premiere airs tonight, with episode 2 of season airing on Thursday.

Will be weird once BBT isn't airing any more new episodes, although it's still gonna be on TV all the time.

For me, the show has gone way past its prime, and many episodes didn't feel like they did anything. Bernadette got unbearable in final few seasons. Was mean for the sake of being mean. Even Penny to a lesser extent wasn't as good.

Early seasons though were funny. BBT was the first show I wanted to watch before it even premiered. Other shows I might need convincing or might just check out not expecting much, but BBT for awhile before season premiere I had a feeling it will be good.

I know people say it so often, specifically when a big show ends(people said similar things when Friends ended), but once BBT ends, is this nearing the end of the traditional sitcom days? How many big sitcoms do we have on network tv? Feels like forever ago when CBS was dominating with BBT,2 and a half men and HIMYM.

Tonight's episode was good. At least the Tham part. Young Sheldon tie ins are the best part of BBT the past year. Tham would've been a nice character for BBT. Was cool how they managed to edit him into old bbt clips. He literally replaced Leonard lol.

The Howard(as Sheldon) and Sheldon conversation was funny.

And it's about time someone called Bernadette out about being unnecessarily mean.

Seems more like they're using that childhood explanation as an excuse for bad writing. I said it before, it was funny at first because we never saw that side of her much(like in that scavenger hunt episode), but she'd be mean for no reason at all to literally anyone at any moment. Really took away from her character. Penny and Bernadette in later seasons seemed to be mean for no good reason, it made Amy look way better.

Doesn't even feel like BBT is ending in a few months. Sadly the show did get to the point where the quality declined near the end to the point where people aren't as sad about it ending.

I've been watching BBT episodes on DVR that aired on a marathon over Christmas. Just been skipping episodes/scenes I don't care for. What I noticed is that S8 is really the point for me where quality noticeably declines.

Short hair Penny starts getting meaner, Bernadette begins her consistent mean streak and show really starts being less about the guys and comedic material on the show.

At least Young Sheldon has been good so far.

Last year was the worst season but I enjoyed a few episodes. I look forward to more of the final season but it's time for the series to end, hopefully with a "bang".

I think I watched one and a half episodes of Young Sheldon.

I guess it depends on what you're expecting out of Young Sheldon. It's not the same type of show as BBT. If not for Sheldons character you probably wouldn't even know it was related to BBT.

I don't even know which I'd classify as the "worst". I'll probably figure it out once I see how much of the later seasons has me skipping stuff. I remember when I was looking at Simpsons seasons and just judging based on episode descriptions(and what I remember from them), all seasons after the movie I found were really bad. Maybe a few episodes a season I'd actually like.

As for this season, I'd probably put it up there for worst season. Raj/Anu story is up there for me as worst story in the shows history (Anu being my least fave character on BBT).

You're right. It's still funny, but I just don't get quite the same feel like it had. Then add in that it seems like they're somewhat running out of ideas. Long term there's not really that much worth covering anymore, aside from Rajesh getting married.

I think they would have had to hold off on marriage and all that to possibly keep things from morphing, but I think they'd have gotten bored either way.

Speaking of Raj, why does Amy often call him Rajesh? I know that's his full name, but that'd be like having a friend named John, but there's 1 person in the group who just has to call him Johnathan.

As for him getting married, maybe it's just me, but I found his best GF to be the one from last season(or season before that?). Probably just cause Beth Behrs was the one playing her, but even if she was just a 1 episode character who was married, she was his best relationship. Most others I've never really bought in to. Lucy,Emily,Anu, all those I didn't care for.

I don't think he HAS to get married, but they probably are just to have all characters married by the end. I was fine with them just having Raj and Stuart living together as 2 weird single guys.
