The trailer is suck-o. Never liked the GL or many of the DC crew anyway.

I thought The Green Lantern was black? I remember seeing a cartoon and he was.

This is about the original Green Lantern Hal Jordan.

          re: The Green Lantern Movie

Ryan Reynolds is The Green Lantern!
In a very surprising move, Ryan Reynolds has won the much-coveted lead role in Warner Bros. live-action version of Green Lantern. We reported earlier this morning that Reynolds was up for the role alongside Bradley Cooper and Justin Timberlake, but thought he'd be a long shot considering the fact that he was also gearing up for a solo Deadpool spin-off. But Green Lantern is definitely a better (and more popular) role for him, and Warners probably liked the fact that Reynolds comes with a nice healthy package full of good looks, charisma and physical force. Dude is huge, he's proven he can handle the superhero stuff (ie: Deadpool in Wolverine), and he's at that sweet spot in his career where something like this could turn him into the next Christian Bale.

Lantern fans will probably agree that he's the best choice, though I'm not crazy about actors who double-dip in the comics world, and I can see people wanting the actor to stick to either one or the other. Production on Green Lantern is set to start in January, with Martin Campbell (Casino Royale) at the helm. The Green Lantern is currently scheduled to hit theaters on June 17, 2011.

So what do you think of Reynolds in the role? Can he pull off both Lantern and Deadpool?

So he went from Marvel to D.C... is that legal? His contract with with Marvel didn't mention anything about this? Plus he made a big deal about this Dead-Pool movie and bringing the character to life with being true to the comic.

Now he's gone against that for more money and fame??? Well i hope he does a good job in this Green Lantern movie then

I think he'd make a MUCH better Deadpool than Green Lantern. I would have gone with Cooper.

Oh. I'm kinda on the young side so I don't really remember that.

Ryan Reynolds is my second favorite actor.

Anything he's in is worth watching.

So is he going to be required to, you know, actually act, or is he just going to be allowed to bring the Van Wilder shtick to yet another role?

You probably haven't seen some of his other movies.

This is gonna be interesting though. Never really pictured Ryan Reynolds as a Hal Jordan.

I demand they put John Stewart in this movie as a cameo at least.

Man that fake trailer was tight! Fillion would have been awesome as GL.
EA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure.

He was barely seen as Deadpool in Wolverine though, so I think he gets a pass. It'd be funny if both movies became huge hits though. He'd practically market against himself.
