**The Official Screamo/Post-Hardcore Discussion Thread**
Well theres a hip hop/rap thread so why not a screamo one? I got into it by hearing Alexisonfire's song "This Could be Anywhere in the World" on whatever mlb game that it was on. Now I have a pretty big rotation of bands that I listen to. What are some bands and songs that you guys like? How did you get into it? And another question. What are some good songs by Thursday, Saosin, Chiodos, Saosin, and Circa Survive? My latest project - Madden 12 http://www.operationsports.com/forum...post2043231648Tags: None -

Anything before "A City By The Light Divided" for Thursday is good. If you are interested, here is an interview I did with them a while back.
As for Soasin - I would avoid them and just stick with Circa Survive - and their first album is pretty good.Michigan WolverinesChicago White Sox -

Saosin died when Anthony left for Circa.
Their good songs: Seven Years, They Perch Their Stilts, Translating the Name, 3rd Measurement in C, Mookies Last Christmas..
Edit: I also see they are set to release a 5 track EP, called the Grey.. it'll come out October 14th. Interested to hear it.Last edited by ex carrabba fan; 10-10-2008, 12:26 PM.Comment

Re: **The Official Screamo/Post-Hardcore Discussion Thread**
I personally still love Saosin, and some of my favorite songs by them are "Sleepers", "Collapse", "Some Sense of Security", and "Voices".
A band most people don't know that I like a lot is Dead Poetic. Their 2nd album, New Medicines, had a decent amount of screaming and really got me into it. My favorites from them are "New Medicines", "Glass in the Trees", "Vanus Empty", "The Dream Club Murders", and "Taste the Red Hands". Their 3rd album Vices wasn't screamo at all, but was still good to me.
Also Story of the Year is one of my top bands... I love their new CD, The Black Swan, as well as some of their older stuff.
I haven't listened to Chiodos's newer album, but I like "Baby You Wouldn't Last a Minute On the Creek" and "The Words "Best Friend" Become Redefined". I only have a couple songs by Thursday, which are "Counting 5-4-3-2-1" and "The Other Side of the Crash / Over and Out Of (Control)" which are both good.
I don't really listen to Circa.
And has anyone gotten the All That Remains album? I'm planning on getting it soon but would like to hear some opinions.Villanova Class of 2012

I've listened to all the stuff mentioned so far and like it all. For windseer I'd recomend these songs.
Chiodos - All Nereids Beware, Is It Progression if a Cannibal Uses a Fork
Circa Survive - Living Together, The Difference Between, Act Appaled, Juturna
Thursday - Understanding In A Car Crash, At This Velocity, Signals Over the Air
And does anyone here like Scary Kids Scaring Kids? I have some stuff that I could recommend for them too. And I have more songs to recommend for all the bands that I mentioned too.My latest project - Madden 12 http://www.operationsports.com/forum...post2043231648Comment

I like Atreyu. Breaking Benjamin plays in a screamo sort of style but doesn't have the screaming too much. and Bullet for my Valentine is more metal than screamo. My latest project - Madden 12 http://www.operationsports.com/forum...post2043231648Comment

I have listened to the cd through, around 3 or 4 times now and it is a LIL different, the way he growls and screams. But its fantastic and the melodic choruses are amazingCharger Fan Born and Raised!

What are some good songs by Thursday, Saosin, Chiodos, Saosin, and Circa Survive?
What do you guys think of A Static Lullaby? I like their self titled album a lot because it's not full out screaming, it's a good mix of regular vocals and then some hardcore stuff. I don't like the constant screaming, I like it mixed in with some regular vocals. Some stuff is just unbearable, like A Static Lullaby's new album Rattlesnake.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
NFL - Buffalo Bills
MLB - Cincinnati Reds

Everything by Saosin is good. Cove and Anthony singing... doesn't matter to me, it's all gold. From the Chiodos, "All Nereids Beware" is the best track. Circa Survive isn't post hardcore at all but their best songs are "Stop the ****ing Car", "In Fear and Faith", "Your Friends are Gone", and "Close Your Eyes to See".

Never listened to A Static Lullaby but I, like you, hate bands with all screaming and no singing. It lacks depth. My latest project - Madden 12 http://www.operationsports.com/forum...post2043231648Comment
