Re: The Dark Knight Rises
I doubt it. I don't think Nolan has ever done one for any of his movies, has he?
Besides, I love the movie as is. I know not everyone feels the same, but after 3 (and a half - on the computer) viewings, I can safely say this is a great closing to IMO the best trilogy of all-time and that I love it just as much as The Dark Knight and Batman Begins. There is no drop-off if you ask me.
It's going to be bad for my wallet when the inevitable trilogy collection with all the extra bonuses comes out. I already have Begins and TDK but **** it, I'm getting them again if I have to.Originally posted by bradtxmaleI like 6 inches. Its not too thin and not too thick. You get the support your body needs.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises
SpoilerI agree. I have seen Inception probably around fifty times now, saw it right before TDKR, and if I watched TDKR another fifty times without reading anyone else's opinion on the film, it would not have ever crossed my mind that the ending is perhaps a "dream sequence." In all honesty, it sort of sounds made up, like something people are just searching for, like an ink-blot test or a cloud in the sky.
But who knows? Maybe Nolan meant for there to be ambiguity. I also thought it was crystal clear that Blake is supposed to be the next Batman, not Robin or Nightwing. But again, everyone is jumping around claiming "Robin" to be the next hero in Gotham. That just doesn't seem right to me.
SpoilerUmm, how is it crystal clear he's not Robin...when his name is Robin?Comment

Re: The Dark Knight Rises
SpoilerBecause he's left with the Batcave, the Batsuit, the Bat, and a repaired Bat-signal?
The Robin name is just an easter egg for fans. If his real name was Dick Grayson or any of the other past Robin's, then it'd be a different story.Originally posted by bradtxmaleI like 6 inches. Its not too thin and not too thick. You get the support your body needs.

SpoilerEven though I'm not the poster you are quoting I have an idea where he is coming from. The way it seemed to me was Blake actually isn't Robin but Batman's successor. Blake was a huge fan service from Nolan but he did state he would never do Robin and in actuality I felt he did a Robin tribute without ever actually doing Robin.
Firstly, though Blake had similarities to Tim Drake and Dick Grayson (not so much Jason Todd) his back story never really mirrors either. Unlike most of the characters (Selina Kyle was still a thief, Bane still a prisoner, etc).
Second and the most damning being that no Robin has ever been named 'Robin'. It is great fan service to hear him called Robin, it makes no sense for him to become Robin if his legal name is that exactly. Talk about horrible seperation of secret identity.
Had his name turned out to be Dick Grayson, Tim Drake, or even Jason Todd it would have been clear that he would become Robin rather than fan service to fans like myself (huge Robin/Tim Drake fan). It seemed more like he would carry on the Legacy of Batman (especially with the 'anyone can be Batman' storyline). However like I said that is just the way it seemed to me

SpoilerAnd yeah he was left everything as well. Though he wasn't left The Bat, seeing as it blew up along with the bomb. Guess the world just wasn't ready for such a beautiful creation.

Got to it before I got a chance to post but glad I'm not the only one who noticed that.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises
SpoilerYup. Again, as Nolan likes to keep his universe a little more grounded in reality, JGL's character WAS Batman's Robin throughout the movie. Then, very clearly, at the end, he was positioned to take over the role of Batman when Bruce left.
Him revealing his name was Robin at the end was, as I said, to let the audience in on what his role had been throughout the movie; Nolan's take on Batman having a "sidekick". Like you said, it was made pretty darn clear.Comment

Re: The Dark Knight Rises
Haha just kidding, I have no idea. However, I don't know if people care or not whether we should leave comments about the novel in spoilers, even though it is, for the most part, taken directly from the film.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: The Dark Knight Rises
Yes. I think it's time to get out of spoiler tags.
Anyone who hasn't seen the movie yet who is still willing to click on the thread....well....I don't know.Comment

Re: The Dark Knight Rises
I thought Bane's character was excellent. Yes, I had a really hard time understanding him but I was really impressed with the authority of his character.
I still will never quite understand the gushing over The Joker in TDK. In order of the first being most impressive I'd say:
Scarecrow
Bane
Joker
The scene where Scare crow asks, "Would you like to see my mask"...is still one of my favorites.Being kind, one to another, never disappoints.Comment
