Re: The Dark Knight Rises
Or is he? In theory Gotham could have hinted Dent was dead at the end of DK with his pictures displayed thru the city because they didn't want the people to know what Dent had turned into as he was the city's "White Knight". That is why Bats told Gordon to tell everyone that he was responsible for the people Dent killed and not Dent. An unconscious (not dead) Dent is then secretly locked away at Arkham Asylum in hopes that he can be rehabilitated..Dent escapes and Gotham soon comes to discover that the man they held above all is just as venomus and deadly as the criminals he was sworn to protect them from leading to more hopelessness in the city of Gotham. It's been awhile since I've seen DK but when I saw that ending originally, I thought that was always a possibility..Last edited by NINJAK2; 03-21-2011, 07:41 PM.EA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Re: The Dark Knight Rises
Maybe you're right. TF already detests and blames Bats for the death of Dawes and given how dirty cops were the reason he and Dawes were captured that would be his reason to despise law enforcement. Now maybe he doesn't escape like I laid out but I would not be surprised if we caught a glimpse of TF in Arkham in DKR. He could be a sad reminder to Bats of a possible villain he helped create thru the course of his actions...Last edited by NINJAK2; 03-21-2011, 08:02 PM.EA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. As for who JGL might play, I think, other than Falcone, the other rumored role is the only other one that fits.
And I think Skerik would be real happy, since he was the first one in this thread, early on, to suggest that character.Comment

Re: The Dark Knight Rises
The thing about Harvey Two-Face in Nolan's world is that I never really got the feeling that Batman felt responsible for the culmination and creation of Two-Face. That is a feeling and a burden of pseudo-guilt that follows Bats around in a lot of story-arcs (I think The Animated Series did a wonderful job with this). For me, the Rachel character took the place of Harvey Dent and how he could have been built up over the course of two movies instead of one.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises
If JGL is playing who it says in the spoiler it makes some sense with Catwoman being in the film and what the rumor how her role plays out. Might even play back a few of the issues of Ed Brubaker's awesome Catwoman run (But thats OT for this thread).HELLO BROOKYLN.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises
If it's true, gotta give some more props to Skerik. This was his post back in The Dark Knight thread right after the movie released in theaters and he saw it:
SpoilerThe one thing Nolan has done with these villains is return them to a primal and realistic existence. No more freeze-rays, man-eating plants, mind control devices and other ridiculous gadgetry and inanity. Look at the Joker for instance - he used primordial weapons like drums of oil and simple knives, but he used them in an exotic and dangerous way so they seemed out of the ordinary. So whoever the main villain is in the next movie, we can pretty much rule out villains with superpowers or other unnatural and unrealistic existences.
The next villain also needs to tie back into the mob. Villains aside, the mob has been the main story in both movies so far and Batman finally taking them down (and rising from outcast to hero) needs to be the main plot of the third movie. So I think the best choice, for all of these reasons, would be....
Black Mask. Wikipedia describes him as follows:
Roman Sionis, a former business executive who originally hated Bruce Wayne rather than Batman, wears a Black Mask and leads the cult-like False Face Society of henchmen. Black Mask eventually became a mob boss controlling large sections of Gotham's criminal underworld.
In my opinion, we don't need a blockbuster villain like Riddler, Penguin, Catwoman, etc. I would even be ok with no villain at all. But I think Black Mask would provide a perfectly respectable villain while refocusing the movie where it should be focused - on the mob and on Batman's rise as hero of Gotham after his fall in TDK.Comment

Re: The Dark Knight Rises
Looking for that post led me to re-read some of the initial impressions posts of TDK by me, blzer, Fresh and others.
Which then led me to turn TDK on.
Which then led to me being sad that I'll never be able to feel that same "oh ****...here we go" feeling when you first hear The Joker's laugh as he's walking in to the Mob's meeting.Comment

Re: The Dark Knight Rises
I'll never forget watching Batman ride off on the Batpod with his cape flowing into the camera and Gordon giving his speech. All I could think/say at the time was "Wow."Originally posted by bradtxmaleI like 6 inches. Its not too thin and not too thick. You get the support your body needs.

I actually thought that speech was corny and I always stop the movie at that point.Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment
