Why have I read 3 negative reviews about this movies. "Epic but falls short". I was shocked to read some of this stuff.


edit: Why did some of these writers talk about the movies is beyond me smh. At least alert the people reading it with some of spoiler alert.

A few people were mad that Travers gave a massive spoiler in the first damn sentence of his review! You kidding me!

Travers should know better than that.

Oh thank god I didn't read that review! I started reading a review from the Chicago Tribute. And the first sentence he talks about how opening scene of the movie. I stop reading. I just can't these writers are releasing this stuff smh.

Oh, and as for the complaints about the length. I'm not going to assume to speak for anybody, but a lot of the complaints about not just this movie but all "comic book movies" is that they're that... comic book movies. Ben-Hur was a historical epic and "deserves" its almost 4hr running time, but Batman doesn't need to overstay his welcome.

Again, not trying to speak for anybody, but I get the feeling from reading a lot of critical pieces, reviews and articles that if it was about something else it would be okay, but it's too much for a movie about a character from the funny books.

Given the very favorable reviews of many of these comic book movies, I don't know if that's a fair statement. If a reviewer thinks The Dark Knight or The Dark Knight Rises was too long take him at his word.

Ive never asked anyone...what parts would you have cut/shortened?

The only people I've ever heard with that criticism I don't trust their opinions or think they're just stupid.

Those were two separate thoughts in my original post. Asked you the question to see what your answer was, and followed it up with the only people I've ever talked to seemed like they just wanted something to complain about so they chose its length.

Some of these reviews are pretty damn analytical. The mere fact that a critic can actually write about moral objections to the themes of the film is a positive sign to me.

Batman begins is on fx right now for anyone who wants to watch the previous films before this movie comes out.
