Agreed. Film just needed another 20-30 mins to give the plot room to breathe.

I need to yank my sister aside during vacation to see it (so I can see it a third time as well haha), but she needs to re-see Batman Begins for sure. I don't think she's too high on that film, but she hasn't given it a true fair shake, and saw it after TDK. I think she'll just need to know that this film really isn't like TDK at all, though.

I dunno... it just felt like an unwinnable fight for the Bat Man, and I didn't know if Nolan was going to go and have him fail. I guess I don't know why I wondered as much, but it felt like Bane had such an overwhelming advantage over most of the movie, and having a nuclear blast... I dunno. I was definitely rooting for Wayne, but I was worried Nolan was going to blow the **** out of Gotham to end his involvement.

It might have also been how dark it was, and how much it mirrored some of the sentiments IRL recently. Like, say, the Avengers... no one had any worries that everything was going to be fixed at the end of the movie, and we'd have some laughs. TDKR? ****, who knows if Gotham's gonna be fine.

I think someone else said it was stressful for them.

This is exactly why in the Batman vs Avengers thread, I said the existential seriousness of TDKR is unparalleled. After the first viewing I was like man there is no way I can turn around and see it again tomorrow. Too heavy. I waited five days and the second go around was gold. Really allowed me to see more of Hathaway's brilliance.

Its all about preference. I liked The Avengers more than TDKR. I love batman but like Marvel > DC so The Avengers was enjoyed more.

I think its awesome to have so many great Comic book movies being released that so many people can like what they like and not the one that didnt suck.
