Yeah i've only seen like bits and pieces of it which is a shame because I consider myself a classic movie maven. I plan on watching the Dec. 2nd showing.

Speaking of Orson, The Third Man is also top-notch even though he only appears in the film for about 10 minutes.

I'm trying to figure out why The Chef is so anti-comedy. It's like whenever a funny movie gets nominated, it's an insult to him.

When did I ever mention Happy Gilmore?

I can think of 15 Denzel Washington movies, at least 10 of which won't make the list that 99% of OS would rather watch than Citizen Kane.

Saying you'd enjoy watching Citizen Kane is like saying you wouldn't bone Rosie for $500,000. Yeah, it's nice to say so people think you're cool, but when the chips are on the table, you clearly aren't going to act as you said you were.
You're missing the point of the list. This isn't about the top movies you'd like to watch AND are contemporary. You need to think about why you would nominate a movie to a "best of" list. It's not necessarily strictly about entertainment value.

And I can't wait to talk to you when you're 50.

I can't believe you guys voted off Rocky IV.

That movie was 10-15 years ahead of its time. Best Rocky movie period.

Shame on some of you. Go straight to your rooms without passing the cookie counter. Snitches.

Thats not true at all, I enjoy comedy movies just as much as the next guy but I dont think there are many that belong in the top 100 movies of all-time. Happy Gilmore I owned on HD-DVD so I clearly like it, I own a ton of comedies (probably more then any other genre in fact). In fact, to prove that I enjoy comedy movies as much as the next guy, check out this list of comedy movies that I own (keep in mind that some of these are my girlfriends so not all of them are necessarily movies I enjoy but most are mine)

And Citizen Kane falls into a best of category if you know anything about the history of film or are a buff of techniques. As a poster said, it was revolutionary. It was unbelieveable for it's time and it created and spawned so many different types of camera movements or techniques like deep focus that were the cornerstones of cinema for many years after that.
