    2) If it was a completely true, legit, non-acting interview on his part, there's a good chance he would've used his real name. Since he was still acting, he was still playing a part, he's still Chris Jericho and not Christopher Irvine.

    3) They were asboutely trying to set something up for Wrestlemania. That was the goal: to have Rourke fight Jericho at Wrestlemania. As we all know, that has since been cancelled by Rourke's agent (rather wisely), so the entire interview is pretty much null-and-void.

I'd be willing to bet that if Jericho and Rourke met face-to-face they would be nothing but smiles and have nothing but respect for each other. Hell, wouldn't even be surprised if they talked before/after the interview was on air.
Took the words out of my mouth. Jericho is doing what he's paid to do... get people to hate him. Since they won't be meeting at WM, Jericho is using him to get some heel heat on him, and its obviously working as people here who know wrestling is fake are thinking that this is real, and y2j is a jackass, lol!

Haha, my mom called and told me about it and said "No, it was real." I tried to convince her for like 40 minutes that it was fake and she just was not buying it. "No, this one was real." I just said "Jericho is one of the best at what he does."

That's too bad it got cancelled. I would have marked out like a kid had Rourke entered Wrestlemania in his Ram duds to "Sweet Child O' Mine."

Well, I used to watch wrestling about 10 years ago but haven't watched more than a couple of minutes at a time since then. But what confuses me is you say by my reaction, Jericho is doing his job. How is that possible? I don't watch wresting, and I won't be buying Wrestlemania, so it looks to me like he's not doing his job since I'm not being convinced to watch him.

Either way, it's obvious Rourke wasn't playing along with the whole Jericho/McMahon plan to rope him into a wrestling match and Jericho made himself look like a tool who went on Larry King with his whole schtick.

Nonetheless, I still won't be watching wrestling and neither will a lot of other people. Wrestling isn't half as popular as it was in the late 90s and it never will be again.

Rourke actually "started" the whole thing by calling out Jericho at the SAG awards. The interview on King was just a work, a means to hype Wrestlemania. Jericho was supposed to look like a tool, so that you pay to watch Rourke kick his *** on PPV. Only in the last day has Rourke's agent announced he has decided against participating in Wrestlemania (which could also be a work, for all we know, but I deem honest for now).

Thinking about picking this up on blu-ray but I don't know if I wanna sit through 2 hours of Rourke's face in HD.

If it helps your decision, the movie is only 110 minutes. Due to how the movie was filmed, it can barely be considered HD. Definitely not a show piece for a new player if that's what you're going for.

Really? Crap I was thinking of renting this to try out blu ray on my recent ps3 purchase. From what you know would the regular version be just as a good?
Meaning should I just rent the dvd version instead of blu ray, since there won't be that great of difference between the two.

You don't really want to rent the wrestler to enjoy the crafted cinematography.

Watched this again just now and its still as great a movie as it was the first 2 times I watched it, just phenomenal in every way for me. I certainly will be buying it eventually as its one I can watch consistently without getting bored of it.

Just saw the movie and enjoyed it. Mickey was amazing and he really got me to feel sorry for him and I'm shocked at how comfortable he seemed in the ring doing moves. Maybe he should have tried pro wrestling instead of boxing way back when. Seemed like a natural.

The only part that seemed awkward was the freak out at the supermarket. Just didn't fit in with his character's personality which was laid back thru the movie even though he was getting constantly **** on. That scene didn't mesh in with the tone of the movie for me and seemed like a contrived "rocky" moment where he's had enough and going back to what he loves. I think it should have been done more subtly.

It will look better on Blu, but not significantly so. It has a grainy picture for a lot of the scenes as the film was going for a pseudo documentary look. The ending scenes are probably the only ones that benefit much from Blu Ray as they have a sleeker look. If it will save you a few bucks to rent the DVD over the Blu Ray then it might be worth it for you to just rent the DVD.

If you watch the special features, you'll see Mickey didn't do a whole lot in the ring. I was a little let down by that but I guess you don't want your star risking an injury that could halt production on something supposed to wrap in a month's time.

I though the scene in the deli was supposed to be intentionally out of character. Ram was acting ticked just to get out of there (intentionally cuts himself so he can act pissed and quit, while looking good), as evidenced by him laughing in his van afterwards. Though he does seem genuinely annoyed whenever someone refers to him as Robin. If anything was over the top for me, it was the trashing of the cereal aisle as he walked out.

This movie was by far the best movie I have seen in a long, long time. I have watched it three times and I plan on watching it more. I've never done that with any of my movies. The usual is maybe two views and on the shelf it goes to collect dust. Needless to say, I don't think I'll be having to dust off the dust on this one.

I bought the movie yesterday and watched it for the first time last night. It was an incredible movie. The sad part is many wrestlers do end up like this which is truly unfortunate. They sacrafice their bodies and end up with nothing to show for it but lost of pain and memories.
