Not really. Ledger did a great job but I wouldn't say it was a great film.

I can think of a lot more movies that were better this year for best picture and did you really expect anyone else in the cast to get nominated?

Mama Mia got one for best Comedy or Musical-I actually enjoyed that movie. (leaving myself open for abuse)

I can't say that it isn't the best picture considering I haven't seen any of the movies. I would certainly say that it is probably the a top five movie this year.

However, the rest of the cast fit their foll perfectly, but I don't think they were Globe worthy, no. Let me also say, if Ledger does not win, then I will never care about this award show again.

Exactly, the movie wasn't exactly great. I mean it was a damn good Batman movie, and Ledger did do a nice job, but damn, chill.

Yep, people tend to overreact when a favorite of theirs gets put onto film in a halfway decent manner.

                  Re: Golden Globe Nominations

Heath did amazing as we all know so his nomination is well deserving but I honestly thought the Dark Knight deserved a few more nominations.

TDK was a beautiful film from ground up. My only complaint is bales batman voice other than that pretty much a flawless heist film and superhero film. Not many films can live in two genres seamlessly. TDK achieves that mad props to the Nolans.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if TDK is nominated for Best Picture, Cinematography, Director, Screenplay and of course Ledger will win supporting actor he was brilliant. With the recent Global nominations that doesn't seem to be a good sign for tdk but either way it should be a great Golden Globes and Academy Awards!

Just wanted to say Milk, Slumdog Millionaire, and The Wrestler were great films!

Have you seen any of the other performances? Philip Seymour Hoffman's film (Doubt) only comes out in limited release tomorrow. I didn't see Tropic Thunder so I can't comment on Cruise and Robert Downy Jr.'s performance. Can't see how you can be outraged over Ledger not winning if you haven't seen all the performances.

I always hate how so many movies that aren't even out yet are nominated. Always bugged me.

It's not a sure thing.Only Peter Finch (Network, 1976) won an acting Oscar posthumously. Several actors were nominated posthumously but did not win the award.

Some nice info there Jaybee74 I know its not a "sure thing" but in my eyes it is lol. I would bet money on Heath winning oscar for supporting role .

My brother and I always make a lists on who will win Oscars. We always bet 2 movie tickets. High stakes I know. Another reason I'm looking foward to seein the Oscars so I can get 2 more free tickets!

Out of the movies I have seen this year, Heath should win it. He captured his character perfectly and it was a great performance. I would of pulled for him even if he never passed away. Alot of people around my area want him to win since he passed away but I hate when I hear people say that. When they say it that way it seems more like sympathy then going off his great performance. That is just my oppinion. BTW:

Maybe it's just not my style, but I thought the direction was the worst part of the movie.

I had no issue with Bale's "Batman" voice as he has to do something to disguise his regular voice given Bruce Wayne's high profile.
