Angels & Demons

I knew the movie was in production but I didn't realize it was coming out in a few months.

It was a better book than The Da Vinci Code and should make for a much better movie as well.

I completely agree with the fact that it is a much better book than The Da Vinci Code and should be a much better movie.

A lot more action, easier to follow the "mystery" part of it, etc.

    Can't wait for this one.

Book was awesome, curious to see how they film this since a good majority of the book takes place in the Vatican and they certainly arent shooting on location.

        Re: Angels & Demons

I just recently read the book over Thanksgiving break and absolutely loved it. Thought it was much better than DaVinci and I liked that one too.

I was satisfied with the DaVinci movie, but I have real high hopes for this movie because of the reasons listed above (more action, better story, etc.).

Also, I'm really looking forward to seeing the Camerlengo deliver his speech on Religion vs. Science. That was brilliant writing.

            Agreed. Phenomenal book.

Never did watch The Da Vinci Code ... was it any good in comparison to the book?

Overall, it wasn't too bad in relation to the book...it just, as I'm sure you can imagine, was a rather "boring" movie since the book doesn't translate too well.

I hated the Davinci code movie. It was pretty bad compared to the book. Also having Tom Hanks didn't do it any justice. Hanks is a good actor, but didn't look the part of the person he was playing.

Angels and Demons was an awesome book. And I agree it should translate better into a movie, but I am still certain it will be lame in comparison to the book.

At least Tom Hanks cut his hair (or at least it looks like it). This book was WAY better (and Da Vinci Code was a great book). The best thing they can do to make this a good movie is SLOW DOWN. The y rushed through all the best part in the DVC. Slow down, tell the story. I'd rather it be 2.5 hours of great movie than 1:45 of okay movie.

The best part of DVC is the beginning when he is finding all the clues, and yet they rushed right through that.

Ron Howard has been quoted as saying Angels & Demons will be a sequel and not a prequel (as the book originally is). It will also be fast paced to mirror the ticking time bomb associated with the storyline.

I actually don't mind them making it a sequel. Doesn't really change anything - especially since I, and probably many others, read it after DVC and it really could've went either way.

I just saw the trailer and Tom Hanks says "Earth, Air, Fire, Water"...I think Captain Planet is the secret!

I'm not sure if I'll see this in the theater or not, we'll see when it's out. Should be a decent movie though.

I've read both Angels & Demons and The DaVinci Code and not only did I feel as though A&D was a much better story, I felt it would translate much better to the big screen. Has a LOT more action.

Agreed. The DVC was a good book and very compelling, but to make it translate into a movie, it would have to be 4 hours long or so. Angels and Demons was also a good book, but you can see right away how it should be a better fit for the big screen.
