    Looked to me like...

    Spoiler

Was there some alternate ending that perhaps would follow more along this storyline?

Oh, and I personally liked the Halloween remake, but I like both of them in their own regard. They are incomparable, not because one is more superior than the other, but because Zombie really went a different route with this movie. Granted, the first half dominated the second half, but I wasn't ever really afraid of the first Halloween as is (watched it as a youngin, maybe 10 or so).

I actually really enjoyed the first one he did.
That horrible step father of 'Michelle' was hilarious!

I'll definitely be checking this one out too.

The funny thing is, that same kid plays Michel in Hancock.

That's exactly what I thought, which is why I liked the movie so much.

I'm not sure I really get re-making every movie in a series...I'm fine with remaking the classics, but why not just make new Halloween movies set in today? Was 2 really a classic? I honestly haven't seen it, so I don't know....

Yeah, I think most people's problems are that they liked how the original one made the character a mystery, and in this one they made the character "emo." IMO this is not the case, but everyone is entitled to their opinions I suppose.

I think he's going to create an original sequel. That said, the thread title may be misleading. I know what he meant, but I don't think they're remaking Halloween 2, I just think that they're making a sequel to the Halloween remake.

2 wasn't too bad, but this isn't technically a remake of 2. It's a sequel to Zombie's first movie. If that makes sense?

His interpretation of the first movie wasn't an exact copy and remake of the original film, so where the story goes from here would be different from where the original sequel went.

Sorry, I should have stated it better. It's not a remake of 2, but a sequel to the utter dog **** remake

Part 2 is actually really good of the original Halloween, it's where you find out that Laurie is Michael's sister, unless you have the director's cut as I do of the first Halloween, then 2 is just a pointless sequel. The director's cut reveals it.

Re: Halloween 2 Remake a Go

Rob Zombie is packing up and heading back to Haddonfield for H2, the sequel to his remake of John Carpenter's classic film from 1978. While other horror websites patronized us for reporting the story broke by Shock, it appears the egg is in their face as Zombie will return to both write and direct the sequel to HALLOWEEN for Dimension Films. Read on for the official news and full details on the deal. What do you guys think? Where should Zombie take the sequel?

Dimension Films and Rob Zombie are teaming for another chapter of "Halloween," and he's racing to scare up the pic for release in October.

Zombie will write and direct "H2," the sequel to his 2007 reinvention of the John Carpenter horror classic. Production will begin in March.

The new film picks up right as the first remake ended, following the aftermath of Michael Myers' murderous rampage through the eyes of the sister he hunted.

Zombie said it won't resemble the original second installment, as the "House of 1000 Corpses" helmer continues to take the franchise in different directions.

Zombie took Carpenter's original and stamped it with an original storyline that treated Myers as a clinical psychopath. The film grossed $60 million domestically in 2007.

Zombie had told Dimension chief and TWC co-chairman Bob Weinstein he wanted nothing to do with a sequel. But just like the franchise's villain, Zombie was compelled to come back.

"I was so burned out. (But) I took a long break, made a record and I got excited again," Zombie said. "Now, we'll be hauling ***, and that's the problem making a movie called 'Halloween': If you come out Nov. 1 or after, nobody cares. If it was called anything else, I'd be fine."

I liked his remake albeit some issues in the way he presented the film.......but I enjoyed it enough that I say bring on the sequel.

                      From Bloody-Disgusting:

We've actually been hearing about Zombie's return to Haddonfield for a few weeks now, and something that has become quite clear to us is that Zombie intends on bringing back a few names from his 2007 remake of HALLOWEEN. From our sources close to the project, expect to see the return of Scout Taylor-Compton as Laurie Strode, Tyler Mane as Michael Myers, Malcolm McDowell as Dr. Sam Loomis, Daeg Faerch as young Michael Myers and of course Sheri Moon Zombie as Deborah Meyers. Nothing is set in stone as the script is currently being written, but we'll have the official news when anything is officially announced. Rob Zombie's H2 picks up right as the first remake ended, following the aftermath of Michael Myers' murderous rampage through the eyes of the sister he hunted. I thought Zombie's remake was pathetic at best. Since when did Michael Myers have long greasy hair during adulthood and look like a female during his youth? Too many sex scenes and the rape that occured felt so out of place. The main characters were even more emotionally shallow than the the original's characters. This was definitely one of the worst movies I have ever watched and it is right up there with Disaster Movie and Crossover as the worst films of all time.

I agree am I the only person who thinks Rob Zombie should stick to music and never sit in the directors chair again. If it wasn't for his music theirs not a chance in hell he could be directing movies he is terrible.

Since Zombie remade the original, I guess. My mom was born with blonde hair, now it's dark brown. The grease? I don't know... maybe scored some from his jail cell. The reason he looked like a female during his youth was because of the actor they chose. The kid looks like a born psychopath, and doesn't look much better in Hancock. Perfect role either way.

Too many sex scenes and the rape that occured felt so out of place.
Perhaps I saw a different version, as I never saw a rape scene. And the scene where he's wearing the boyfriend's glasses was also in the original. But IMO they didn't feel out of place... they just felt like any other horror movie is all, which isn't that great.

The main characters were even more emotionally shallow than the the original's characters. This was definitely one of the worst movies I have ever watched and it is right up there with Disaster Movie and Crossover as the worst films of all time.
Zombie likes to do something funny with characters... something to do with trying to give them an element of normality, like that that's actually how people would talk, and they won't be speaking in the smartest or most proper way. It's kind of like Knocked Up... some scenes just don't need to be in there to progress the story, and instead are in there to show the characters' lives. The unfortunate thing was it was way too cheesy, and they were introduced very late (of course, with the intention of the movie to first show his past, I suppose that's understandable).

The characters, outside of Myers and Loomis, were definitely the weakest part of the film.
