A Best Picture Award can be meaningless.

You can't make a blanket statement like that especially in the case of this movie.

If you look at the movie from Ed Tom's (the main character) point of movie the movie and a beginning, middle, and end.

And thats what I consider an excuse. 'The main character is Tommy lee' For the movie to be about him it, you know, kinda has to be about him, which it isnt. His presence is completely superfluous.

and back to the best picture thing. I can make a blanket statement. your own statement backs me up. You cant pick and choose when a Best Picture is meaningful only when it suits your argument.

Ed Tom is the main character of No Country. To think otherwise is to miss the point of the movie completely.

And the movie had no ending. call me old fashioned but I enjoy an actual narrative arc, with a beginning, middle, and end.

Since when is a Best Picture award meaningless? What about the overwhelming critical praise associated with such an award? What about it's place in film history?

Sorry, Im not so-phistacted liek the rest of ya'll.

1st of all I dont consider someone, that if removed entirely from the movie, not just editing him out but if he didnt exsist at all in the movies universe there would be no changes at all to the story, a main character. and if by chance the movie is about his character 'coming to grips with his mortality' (as I keep hearing), then it was badly done.

and, again, best movie: It either right 100% of the time, or its not.
And if its not, you cant use it as a measuring stick for all the movies that win the award.

talked to another old cop.
talked to the old guy with the cats.
told his wife about his dream.
