I was a shy kid. But a lot of my childhood was spent punching the bullies out.

We live in more of a p*ssy generation now, where everybody’s become used to saying, “Well, how do we handle it psychologically?” In those days, you just punched the bully back and duked it out. Even if the guy was older and could push you around, at least you were respected for fighting back, and you’d be left alone from then on.

I don’t know if I can tell you exactly when the p*ssy generation started. Maybe when people started asking about the meaning of life

I probably shouldn't encourage this aggressive behavior, but yeah - Clint is right.

The political correctness and other laid back, flight rather than fight attitudes that are so encouraged now days are turning the nation into over-tolerant, spineless crybabies who become "offended" by the smallest things.

Clint nailed it though PC has a lot to do with it I think the main cause of this stupidity is the whole "man needing to find his feminine side" BS that started in the early 90s.

Maybe i'll write something about it.

Pretty much the case. Alot of crap is being banned out of school (hugs and high fives the 2 I can think of). Now you're expected to deal with a counselor at school to mediate when a quick fight would solve it.

Yeah, when I was a kid, you fought the bully too. You didn't have a choice, after school, the mob would start to gather and you knew it was your time.

The mob pushed the impending incident off school grounds and there you stood with a ring of people crowded around you and it was put up or get beat down time. Hell, sometimes you got beat down, but it was gut check time and you slammed your fist of rage right into the mf'ers temple and just kept swinging until you got pulled off of him or the bully got tired of beating on you. Either way, if you inflicted enough pain on the bully, it was the last time he was going to bother messing with you. But the thought of murdering the bully really never came up.

Now it appears to be different. People have no regard for human life. They are cowards that carry guns and knives and travel in packs. You don't have the option of going one on one toe to toe with the bully. They'd kill you before that happens. There is a gang that you can't possibly win against unless you want to add some fire power to the game yourself and then where will that end.

I'll all for a good old fashioned throw down, it used to be a right of passage and oh so satisfying when you made a stand and threw that punch that landed to the cheers and dismay of the crowd but I don't think it works that way anymore Clint.

I know you're being tongue in cheek, but the point above is well taken. The fight was over and no one thought of gaining retribution by pulling out a piece or running home to get one and "evening the score". Gangs kept it within their own world and rarely let it leak out into the common public. I wished I lived in that time again too.

My dad grew up probably during the same time he did or possibly before and there were still gangs around. There is no point in human history where people didn't gang up on other people and I wish this crazy nostalgia tinted view of the world where everything was perfect would stop.
