    Music Suggestions

I'm 28 now, but growing up I wasnt allowed to listen the radio or get any CD's outside of ones my parents approved of. Went to a small private school and had a somewhat sheltered upbringing. Haven't branched out much, but after meeting my wife qho loves hair bands, she turned me onto some of those songs/artists. I'm looking to branch out some more.

What i was hoping is that you guys could post some good or "classic" songs from the 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's. Bohemian Rhapsody, Living on a Prayer, More Than A Feeling etc.

Im trying to get my musical chops up to where they should be. Any and all help is appreciated, and I'd like it if you could keep them realistic. And no late 90's rap.

Edit: Im looking for the songs that EVERYONE knows. They might seem obvious to you, but may not be to me. Piano Man, American Pie, Crash, Sweet Child of Mine, Land Down Under, etc

My suggestion is you check out a Rock Band or Guitar Hero game and start searching there. Maybe you won't like some of the songs, but you may still like the sound of the band and do some searching via Pandora thereafter.

I don't really know how else to recommend songs to you. I guess start with CCR and Steppenwolf and then just work your way up the ladder.
    Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60

I recommend Pandora and if you like to listen to music on your computer, check out last.fm - it has a great recommendation/suggested listening feature, plus, they have a lot of free tracks to listen to.

If you decide to get that Curtis mayfield "Superfly" album get the deluxe edition. I would recommend any of Prince's old music. He may look funny but heck of a musician.

Yeah I should've said to get the deluxe edition but he wanted the CLASSICS so I just listed the classics without going into alternate takes and such.

                        Some more:

"For the Love of Money" - The O'Jays

                        "Oh Girl" - The Chi-Lites

"Someday We'll be Together" - Diana Ross (basically one of the few of her songs I relaly like)

All the hit songs that Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell did. You listen to those two you'd swear they were lovers for sure.

                        "Brick House" - The Commodores

                        "The Gambler" - Kenny Rogers
