Re: Fox 5 News Puts Solange Knowles In her Place

How I see it is that all the anchor stuff came after her blowup. She started whining about something that wasn't aired, and because she was all bitchy about something they didn't air they got snarky at her.

I agree that the news anchor wasn't totally professional, but neither was Solange blasting out during the interview with no provocation....It's not like they asked her some question in the interview that was mean/spiteful.

I also never told anyone they couldn't laugh. My comments have been about everyone saying that she deserved it because the anchor was right. People are ready to hand him a medal for being an a** on the air. It's also a bit mind boggling to me that she acted very professionally about the whole thing and yet most of the posters in this thread are acting like she went berserk or raised her voice or something to that affect.

If I had read this thread before watching the video, I really would have thought she flipped. She didn't even come close.

My entire point isn't to defend her. It's to understand what she did wrong. I asked that question in my first post and no one has really answered it. All I've read are comments like, "Because she deserved it."
I don't think it was professional for her to call the interviewer out on air (despite whatever she thought was said). My personal opinion is that it would be more professional to handle it off air after the interview. Starting an interview like that is just asking for problems and in my opinion immature.

I am outraged. She should sue them for unprofessionalism and Fox News should be stripped of their broadcasting license.

Oh wait, I mean that was funny as hell and I don't give a mother**** about all of this "PC" and "professionalism" noise. News flash: C-list (at best) "celebrities" who act like haughty bitches deserve to be treated like C-list faux-celebrity haughty bitches. Case closed.

But by all means, please continue PC-ing yourselves into oblivion.

I don't disagree with that, but she is her own private business. If she wants to hurt her image, that's her prerogative.

This anchor, on the other hand, works for a company. If it had been my company, and I saw my employee going off like that, he wouldn't be working for me anymore.

Well, I guess I must have a greater threshold for patience.

Saying she "blewup", got "bitchy", "blasted out", or acted "immature" is nowhere to be seen in the clip I watched.

I'll move on then since I obviously don't connect with you guys in this regard.

Oh, before I leave this thread for good, I just wanted to quote you because you went ahead and answered my question, and I'm aware you did.

While, I don't agree that she acted immature, I can completely understand you feeling that she should have waited till after to say something. I would have gone one step further and cancel the interview before they went live.

It was her timing that was a bitchy, diva-ish, bush league move...This was a taped interview earlier, all the stuff from the anchors came after this. She had some issue with them when going over stuff 5 minutes prior and instead of dealing with it off air she decides to be a bad interview.

I don't get why any "stars" (and I use that term loosely with her) would even cause this problem...they have nothing to gain from being difficult....

Basically. She felt the station did something wrong (who knows if they really did) and she addressed it with them. I don't really see what the anchor said that was so impressive. He called out a semi-celebrity after she had already gone off air. It was entertaining, but the anchor came off worse than her, imo.

Yeah and now thanks to the publicity her album will sell 2 copies instead of one.

                                A couple of things:

This interview is like 6 mos old. Her album dropped in the Summer/Fall and it sucked.

What happened was 40/40 was named in a number of workplace discrimination lawsuits this summer and news of one of them broke during that time.
