I was looking for a way to fix the errors on my PC (no virus problem, I scanned with 3 programs and none of them found anything), and came across this site. Has anyone downloaded and tried it?

If you want a good virus program Try ESET NO32. Very Good Application. If you want to fix like registry problems and clear out those cookies and unused files that your software leaves after you install try CCleaner (that's free BTW). You can also try something called TuneUp Utilities 2008 that's an all around program.

May i ask what kind of errors are you getting?

My PC freezes every day more than once (sometime 3-4 times). Also, 4-5 days ago something weird happened, not sure what - and when I start my PC it shows a black screen with a little white line flickering, then a black screen with a line of little white squres seperated and then getting connected with a thick white line (like a scale that runs eventually all the way), then it gets to the regular Windows screen and loads normal. But since that happende, my sound card isn't identified anymore. It doesn't exist on the hardware as if I don't have a sound card.

Sounds like you have hardware issues. I think the thick white line is just the progress bar to load to windows, I've seen that on some other computers. Are you using Vista by any chance? Or Windows XP?

BTW you might want to try a program called Uniblue Driver Scanner 2009 i use that to update the drivers on my hardware. The program actually downloads the latest drivers so that might help with sound card issue. If it't not the sound card's drivers then you may need to purchase a new sound card but you probably just have some outdated or incompatible drivers. Did you Update you computer by any chance (e.g. Windows update)?

I'm using XP and yeah, I updated it a few days ago, I thought it might have something to do with that but wasn't sure. BTW does this program identify the hardware you have automatically? Because I don't really remmeber what sound card I have. And can you tell me more about this program? Is ot free? What does it do...etc. Thanks a lot mate!

PS: There's an update waiting to be installed (the little yellow icon on my taskbar). I can't get it canceled.
PS2: I restored my PC to 2 weeks ago, it didn't help much.

OK, I'm downloading Uniblue Driver Scanner 2009 now and we'll see if it works. Never heard of that before for soem reason.

It's Not free. Furthermore, It Scans every part of your system then let's you know what drivers on that particular part is outdated. Then It Updates it for you. Every computer part I buy i use this program just make sure it's up to date. I think When you did a Windows Update it somehow installed or overwritten the corresponding drives for that sound card and installed its own. If You are familiar with .torrent files then I can help you. Maybe not on the thread but through PM's.

Nah, I don't download torretns...and I got the program working...ummm full (don't ask me how here ). I'm not sure if it says anything about the sound driver. Is there a way to ask it to check only the sound driver?

Amazing program. I am a computer nerd and thought I was safe, but I ran that and it found 4 trojans and some other crap that AVG didn't pick up on.

OK thanks, because I'm not sure that the sound driver is on the list anyway. I opened the PC and cleaned some dust and tried to find if there's anything not connected... well I found a little wire with a small black connection with 4 holes, and the word "speaker" written on it. Not sure if it ever been connected, maybe it's just something that never been used anyway.

There is a section called the Sound, Video and game controller section. Do a Complete scan then let me know. As soon as you start the program it should start scanning your hardware. Did you get any errors?
