Re: Anybody seen Jessica Simpson lately?
Beyonce is athletic? Hahaha.
I'm sorry. I like girls with a little meat on them, too, but there is no way that Beyonce is athletic. Especially not in the most recent picture posted of her. One look at that picture says she is likely overweight.
Anyone that says Beyonce is not overweight and attributes that term with fat is doing exactly what they hate the media for doing by saying that girls that are underweight are normal.
Look at a chart.
Those dance routines that Beyonce does so perfectly takes months of exercise, plenty of cardio plus athleticism and energy. No bum off the street can do that. My ex was a dancer for Missy Elliot while on tour a couple years ago. She worked her *** off to the point where her thighs could crack your head open.
Truth be told, Beyonce probably has harder abs than most of us schlubs on OS.Comment

Re: Anybody seen Jessica Simpson lately?
I posted this at Maddenmania. I stand by it.
I love all these celebrities coming to her defence, essentially saying it's ok to be fat.
Gimme a break.
I agree that the supermodels are bad role models for teen girls (being way too skinny), but Jessica looked great in The Dukes of Hazzard (not too skinny, certainly not too fat).
The only message her current look sends out is - 95% of MM or OS (edit!) (but still not Dave) may have a shot at Jessica in five years.
I do not applaud her "Curvy" (translation: fat) new look.
Like a pro athlete, it's her job to stay in shape so old pervs like yours truly have something nice to look at.Comment

Re: Anybody seen Jessica Simpson lately?
I saw a picture of her performing since this whole thing has come out, and she looked better. She was however, dressed in black with a long coat to pretty much hide what everyone has been talking about. r.PS: You guys are great.

Just because Beyonce can dance does not make her athletic. It just makes her able to dance. Does that require hours of training and work? Of course. But, her body type is not athletic. Especially not in that pic that I commented on.
I'll go the extreme backwards. Michael Jackson was a dancing machine and that man probably couldn't play a sport. I'm a skinny guy and even I probably have more muscle than Michael Jackson could even dream of. Can I dance like Michael? Nope. But, I'll beat him in any sport.
Does that make me more athletic? I don't know. Back to my point, it just makes me able to do what I do and him able to do what he does. Beyonce can dance because she trains to dance. Athletic it does not make her."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

Then again, much like the body argument in this thread, the athletic argument can never be agreed on. I'm pretty sure that we all have differing opinions on what makes someone athletic.
Heck, not even the NBA knows the difference and they continue to crown players future HOFers because of their athleticism."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. At least a fat girl can keep you warm and provide some pillow action. All you get with a skinny chick is elbows, shoulder blades, pointy hip bones, and shivering.Send your Midnight Release weirdo pics/videos to my new website: http://www.peopleofmidnightreleases.com!Comment

I disagree. My body is trained to play baseball, but that doesn't mean my body is trained for boxing or soccer. Very different sports that use different muscles.

How do you know Michael Jackson can't play sports? How do you know that his wirey body type and extreme muscle twitch couldn't whoop your *** in any sport?Comment

Re: Anybody seen Jessica Simpson lately?
To each his own... That's why these threads always tend to amuse me... Every time Serena Williams is brought up, it always ends up with a line down the middle, and dudes who think she is thick, and the inevitable "linebacker" comments. When will we learn that everyone is just different? I saw Keira's pic posted on here and was unmoved. Did nothing for me. But I ain't mad at the dude who sports wood at it... Let him do him. The same way I ain't mad at Jess with a little meat on her. She could lose the mom jeans, but she's never really moved my meter anyway.Comment

Re: Anybody seen Jessica Simpson lately?
Agreed. There's lots of definitions of athletic, but to do all that dancing and performing she has to at least be in decent shape and have a good amount of stamina and coordination. When dudes say they want an athletic chick, I think that fits the definition more than whether or not she can play basketball.Comment

Re: Anybody seen Jessica Simpson lately?
Wait, it doesn't take some form of athleticism to do those dance routines? Hmm. Interesting. I'm not saying she can go for the Olympics, but c'mon. Just because she isn't hulking doesn't mean she isn't athletic.
