After seeing the picture I wonder if the guys here who were "for" teaching her a lesson still agree with CB...

Like I said very early in this thread, as much as you want to "beat" your lady when you're angry, remember, most of us could probably kill them with our strength. If there is an argument b/w you and your lover, be a man and walk away. It's tough but it saves you from looking like a P.O.S (hence, CB).

BTW, seeing Rihanna's beautiful face all smashed up like that kills me.

I dont know about that. Chris Brown is arguably the biggest young R&B star out there. His album just went double platinum and R&B and pop fans buy his albums.

But you are right its different and here is why. It sucks but the reason why R. Kelly's career didnt end was because most people havent seen the tape, the girl in the video has refused to testify against him, nobody knows who the girl is and many people see 14 yrs old as being old enough to consent to sex. I saw the tape and after that vowed to never buy an album by him again but most people havent seen the tape.

Brown beat on probably the second biggest female R&B star behind Beyonce and everyone will see this photo before this week. He's done.

I might have missed it, but I didn't see anyone advocating beating the hell out of a girl; just that in certain situations it could be justifiable to lay a hand on her. Quite obviously, no matter what the situation between he and Rihanna was, Brown was not justified in what he did.

It was in the early pages of the thread, around the time where the STD rumor came out. Still, even if it's just a hand, could you really get yourself to punch a woman in the face? Many posters here said they'd be able to. Me, never, no matter what happened. One punch could do more than enough damage.

LOL. I knew this would happen. I think maybe one or two people in this thread said he should teach her a lesson. The debate was about whether there is any instance where a man should hit a woman. Some said there is and some said there isnt.

The Chris Brown situation isnt close to that discussion. He didnt just hit this girl once. He hit her multiple times, bit her and allegely chocked her. I dont think anyone here agrees with that.

One punch could do more than enough damage to a man too. Its not like men have stronger skin or bones in the face than women.

BTW, the photo online was taken by a cop at the scene (the reason she's not as horrible as reported) ... apparently the really ugly swelling and bruising photos were taken at the hospital, but they haven't surfaced as of yet.

And wishing anal rape on someone in prison is pretty sad also. It's ridiculous that has come to be the expectation in our prisons. He deserves whatever punishment he gets, but implicitly condoning that kind of thing doesn't sit right with me. That's not what prisons are for.

I know what you're saying, but R. Kelly was pulling in a lot more people in his hey day. I am talking about that "I Believe I Can Fly" (that song is an anthem now all over the world), "You're My Angel" duets with Celine Dion and Michael Jackson international fame. CB wasn't that big and thanks to this incident, he never will be.

Good point but he wasnt at his pinnacle when the video was released. This video came years after I Believe I Can Fly.

Can I see myself doing it? No, not really. However, that doesn't mean I don't think there could be a situation in which it could be justifiable. The situation brought up by aholbert earlier where the girl followed the guy down the street and continued hitting him (I think I'm remembering it correctly) is one where I think it could be justifiable.
