Help with TV purchase...
I am getting about $400 back from my taxes and I need a new TV. I have right now a 24 inch Zeneth None HD TV. I have a PS3, 360 and Wii I play on it. I would like to get a HD tv about the same size for about $400. Any suggestions?PS4 Twitch: http://www.twitch.tv/candyman5os

Agree with the others. Should be able to find a 32" HDTV in that price range. Probably a little above $400 though.Comment

I know your starting to creep north of 400.00 but I would rather have the following TV for the extra 50.00 or so...

Best Buy has a 32" Samsung for 498. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1202648987833
Not too shabby.I don't like the Yankees, I like the Red Sox, I don't like the Lakers, I like the Celtics, I hate the Canadiens and I love the Bruins. Soccer is the best sport on Earth, but most Americans are too ignorant to realize it. I am American.

I am not sure which one to get when I get the money. Should I go with 477.00 one which will be 503.62 with tax thats 720p or pay the extra 70 to 80 bucks for 547.00 one which will be 579.82 after tax that is 1080p....Hmmm.Last edited by tktnuri; 03-25-2009, 03:04 PM.Comment

Re: Help with TV purchase...
$329 at Costco for a 32" Proscan.
Obviously not a big name, but for the price of $329.99, I don't think you can beat it. Response time of 5 MS would be perfect for gaming. Plus with the extra cash you are saving, you can get yourself a new game.
Plus Costco has a 90 day return policy and an extended two year warranty and the reviews are pretty good. I've never owned a Proscan so I don't know their track record...obviosuly it's not a Sony or a Samsung, but for your price range it may be a steal.Last edited by Trevytrev11; 03-25-2009, 06:08 PM.Comment

Re: Help with TV purchase...
Where the real difference is between the 2 tvs you listed is the $547 tv has 3 HDMI slots, much faster response time (6.5ms vs 8ms) and better audio (24watts vs 20 watts).
If I were going to splurge a little it would be to get a bigger size (37inch Vizio is only $598 w/ a 6ms response time) not for 1080p on a 32 inch HDTV.
I have a 32inch Vizio in my bedroom and love it. Just wish I had paid a little more for a bigger set.
Good luckLast edited by GAMEC0CK2002; 03-26-2009, 04:15 AM.Comment
