    Help with TV purchase...

I am getting about $400 back from my taxes and I need a new TV. I have right now a 24 inch Zeneth None HD TV. I have a PS3, 360 and Wii I play on it. I would like to get a HD tv about the same size for about $400. Any suggestions?

Agree with the others. Should be able to find a 32" HDTV in that price range. Probably a little above $400 though.

I know your starting to creep north of 400.00 but I would rather have the following TV for the extra 50.00 or so...

I am not sure which one to get when I get the money. Should I go with 477.00 one which will be 503.62 with tax thats 720p or pay the extra 70 to 80 bucks for 547.00 one which will be 579.82 after tax that is 1080p....Hmmm.

grab the $547 one its contrast is 5 times better, take that back they highlight dynamic contrast its only slightly better than the other but you do get full HD

Lmao, your edit just made it worse. :P I may just get the $547 one because of my Blue-Ray on my PS3. Just any other suggestions will be helpful.

                          $329 at Costco for a 32" Proscan.

Obviously not a big name, but for the price of $329.99, I don't think you can beat it. Response time of 5 MS would be perfect for gaming. Plus with the extra cash you are saving, you can get yourself a new game.

Plus Costco has a 90 day return policy and an extended two year warranty and the reviews are pretty good. I've never owned a Proscan so I don't know their track record...obviosuly it's not a Sony or a Samsung, but for your price range it may be a steal.

You will see no difference in picture quality when comparing 1080p vs. 720p on a 32 inch HDTV. You'd have to be sitting right next to the screen for any perceived advantage. 1080p benefits don't come into play until you're talking 42-50+ inches.

Where the real difference is between the 2 tvs you listed is the $547 tv has 3 HDMI slots, much faster response time (6.5ms vs 8ms) and better audio (24watts vs 20 watts).

If I were going to splurge a little it would be to get a bigger size (37inch Vizio is only $598 w/ a 6ms response time) not for 1080p on a 32 inch HDTV.

I have a 32inch Vizio in my bedroom and love it. Just wish I had paid a little more for a bigger set.

                            Good luck
