This is a sad, depressing and scary story. I feel bad for all involved. The chimp had to be taken out, the lady's friend is deformed for life (if she survives) and the owner just had the most traumatic experience of her life, had to watch her pet maul and eat her friend, had to stab her own pet, and then watch it get shot and killed.

Wow. I can't even imagine what she is going through . . .

She was interviewed today. She actually said on more than one occasion the monkey had stolen and driven her car through their neighborhood by itself!

The owner sounds negligent. If you can't keep the Monkey from driving your car, getting out of a locked area, and are prescribing drugs to it without a prescription from the vet, then the owner should be culpable for all damages and costs.

I read in my paper today that in addition to stabbing the chimp, the owner also hit it several times with a shovel. WTF?

Interesting audio, and for the guy crying about them shooting the chimp, the owner clearly wanted them to do that since she said it constantly in that call. Shes a fool for keeping a wild animal as a pet, a wild animal that had gotten loose previously and had grabbed and bitten a woman previously already, that owner should be held liable for anything and everything that happens because of this.

Lol, is that statement really that outrageous? That doesn't mean I wouldn't try to get it off using other forceful means. Also, we are talking about theoretical situations that require intense decisions while the sympathetic ns is working overtime and the adrenaline is flowing.

The point is, in the heat of the moment one does things they normally think they would never would do. I am sure the woman felt the same way as me before the incident happened. You never know what you are capable of until you are strongly tested, but when I get cerebral about it, yeah I don't think there would ever be a situation where I could STAB my dog. Remember, stabbing is much different than something such as even shooting, as the situation is much more intimate in nature.
