Just saw a piece from Fox News about this. It gets worse. The lady lost her face, her eyes, everything. Plus they had to amputate both of her hands. They said that the EMT's and Police Officers are in great trauma, they said the crime scene was the worst thing they have ever seen. Some were 20 years vets as well. Tragic story.

I assume you're joking around or you are one hell of an animal activist. I'm more astonished that people here thought you're being serious and replying in kind. Good job. That friend with the Lyme disease who gets touched "sometimes" was a nice hint that you're joking around.

Just on the tiny chance that you're not. Would you try and apprehend a chimp that would literally try to bite off your family jewels. I don't know any cop that's getting paid enough to risk that. Lyme disease wasn't the fear, it was losing your nose or getting castrated. Not even TJ Hooker would try and grab him and beat him with a billy club. Would he then cuff him and send him to an anger management class for primates.

The chimp is running amok and the police should take the time to go to an animal clinic and grab some tranqualizers while the chimp is going Cujo on the cars on the street.

No joke! I would love to see him with this same defense if the chimp was in the vicinity of his own son/daughter/wife.

I feel bad for the chimp since it sounds like the owner gave it xanax and that probably caused him to go crazy. Typical human stupidity but hey, can't ever put the blame on the human species for stuff like this since it is easy to shoot the animal.

Also sucks they couldn't have just shot it with some heavy duty tranqs but apparently it is OK to kill animals that are not human when they get violent. When a human does stuff (you know, raping children and such) they do everything in their power to keep the person alive but when another species does something looks out, insta death. Pathetic.

HUMANS ARE JUST ANIMALS LIKE EVERYTHING ELSE. I am getting sick of the species not grasping nothing makes them superior to other species. That humans can't actually do much in hand to hand combat vs almost every other species clearly shows the species is pretty weak.

It is a shame the owner wasn't the person who got mauled since she is clearly an idiot and the cause of her friend getting messed up and an animal being killed. I feel bad for the friend who got attacked.

Bugs me. Oh and people can say I am crazy or some heavy animal activist but the reality is I don't hold human life to any higher standard than I do any other species and actually probably hold it less (aside from children) since adult humans actually cause problems. There is nothing logical to believe humans are some special species. If you believe God created life then every species is a creature of God. If you don't believe in God then all life has the exact same worth as well. The only reason people believe otherwise is because they are human and have some "fanboy" type mentality where they think their species is superior and that human life is so valuable because they are a part of it. It's the same mentality you see throughout the world where people hype up their country, think their family is the best, think their sport team is the best, etc. If these same people were of another species then they'd think that species was the most valuable.

So Steveo, so if your walking your daughter around then a dog attacked you and your daughter, you don't want that animal dead?

Or when the matter is done, you woulnd't want the animal put down? That monkey was going to die no matter if it was shot or put down after it was tranquilized.

Plus the monkey wasn't raping the lady, the monkey was eating her, ripped her face off and damaged her hands so much that they had to be amputated.

I'm sorry, I believe it had to die and not await Monkey trial.

So my sister just called me. Her friend was involved with getting the attack victim to/into Cleveland Clinic. Apparently they had a decoy ambulance and escort for the media and snuck the woman in, but her friend was one of the people that was with her and he said she just looks absolutely horrific. They apparently didn't have her completely bandaged for some reason, so he was able to see that her face and said looks like it was crushed in. And she apparently only has one finger left, which at that point, what's the point anymore?

Aside from ignoring the dangers of being around a chimp, you have to feel bad for this lady and how she won't be able to live anything that is even close to a normal life anymore
